Hi all,

New here and just over 4 weeks pregnant. I am pretty phobic about vomiting so pregnancy was always going to be an anxious time for me! Early days I know but feeling ok so far, just been suffering with a lot of excessive saliva the last few days (ew!) The internet seems to say that this can be closely related to morning sickness/severe morning sickness which obviously makes me nervous! Just wondered if anyone had suffered from one without the other?
Thank you Smile

If it helps I had severe nausea throughout the first trimester but never actually vomited. So if you are feeling sick don’t panic, you might not actually vomit at all!

I had a lot of saliva, which often made me nauseous.

I only threw up a handful of times though.

Hi. I suffer with emetaphobia and have a serious issue with vomit (mainly other people being sick) but to the point where it can control my life at times. When I became pregnant, I was terrified of vomiting but have been very lucky to have only suffered with nausea. I read somewhere that it's pretty rare for those who fear vomit actually are sick as we have learnt ways to control it and hold it back (ew)! I think this has been the case for me.
Try not to worry about the saliva thing. I've had that throughout and still have it now (14 weeks) and as mentioned, have only suffered with nausea. I found wearing the sea sickness acupuncture bands were good during the first trimester. It's probably more psychological than anything but I felt that when I was wearing them, it would be unlikely that I would be sick.
