I'm currently 10 weeks pregnant and in the throes of horrible morning sickness. There's nothing I can think of that I want to eat or drink - everything repulses me.

I've decided to try to be a bit positive and think about what I'm going to eat when my appetite returns and I can keep food down.

I've persuaded DH that we have to go to Nando's the minute I feel better, and I'm going to have something hot and smothered in peri-peri sauce.

What does everyone else have in mind? What did you eat when your sickness finally subsided?

I'm so glad that when I was pregnant in the early 70s there was no embargo on any food or drink.

moleeye your list nearly made me cry, your are a real hero going without all of those things!

I started to enjoy chocolate again around 32 weeks after going off it at the beginning. Also fish and chips and tuna mayo as was awfully sick after those near the beginning and it put me right off for ages. Baby due by the end of the month and I am looking forward to pate on toast, prosecco and sauvignon blanc. Also looking forward to eating and not having heart burn after certain foods.

Mines now 18 months old but I still remember the goats cheese tart I ate at a wedding when she was a week old.....so bloody amazing!! It was actually my husband's choice of starter as we didn't know if she'd be born before or after (but hopefully not during!) the wedding and I pretty much made him swap with me 😂😂

Sorry about the sickness OP, but congratulations on your pregnancy. I had HG and was still throwing up in labour, I then refused the tea and toast offered after dd was born as I was still woozy from the gas and air, the hospital food was pretty good but my parents cooked me rare steak with dauphinois and champagne when I got home. Was so so unbelievably good to eat a meal without it tasting weird/nausea/vomiting. Best meal of my life, it was worth the wait

I can't wait to eat again. Chocolate, coffee, garlic bread, spaghetti carbonara, pizza, burgers, honestly anything with flavour and smell.... Just food aha. 2 weeks so far on plain food if any

moleeye · 08/10/2018 20:27

@Fruitteatime yep, it's no fun.

I had it in my last pregnancy from 28 weeks but I became type 2 diabetic after. This pregnancy because I'm already diabetic I've had to be strict from the start.

It's so hard. I'm not going through this again!! X

@SoyDora I'm just hoping that we are going to be home and settled so I can sit in my pjs on Xmas day with a round of Brie!
Loving all the mentions for pate too. I miss making my home made pate (I refuse to make it for everyone else when I can't eat it myself!)

Noboozeforme · 08/10/2018 20:34

I'm not pregnant but have to follow the Listeria diet for 6 months due to something medical.

I can't wait to eat a rare steak!!!

tinyradish · 08/10/2018 20:39

I'm in exactly the same boat! A tiny bit further along than you, HG & literally can't wait to enjoy food again. Any food. ANYTHING.

Especially healthy things like salad, vegetables, avocado... Atm the only things that stay down (sometimes) are beige - mainly potatoes.

IsItCoffeeTimeYet · 08/10/2018 20:52

Eugh, I'm with you, about 9 weeks here and I want all the food but my stomach does NOT want any of it.
Tomato soup and mints is all for me currently. Weirdly all carbs seem to be off the menu.

Nando's is a good shout. Mature cheddar cheese is the my go to snack food so I'll be happy when I can have that again.

anothermnname · 08/10/2018 20:52

I'm 19 weeks and still not got my appetite back but mine isa roast dinner!

Eminybob · 08/10/2018 21:05

I have gestational diabetes, and this is the list I have so far of things I plan to eat as soon as the baby is born. It sucks so much that there is so much lovely food out of bounds in pregnancy, but then all the sweet replacements have been taken away from me too SadSadSad

Wine
Pate
Brie
Guillian sea shells
Salted caramel donut
Cream donut from Greggs
Sweet and sour chicken with Singapore rice
Cupcakes
Baileys
Cheesecake
Trifle
Pancakes with lemon and sugar
Afternoon tea
Crunchy nut cornflakes
American breakfast

RiskIt4Biscuit · 09/10/2018 11:02

I'm 27 weeks and haven't really had a whole lot of nausea, but I am dreaming of brie, blue cheese, pate and liver sausage on crusty, freshly baked bread.

Firstbornunicorn · 09/10/2018 22:05

Does anyone else like the chicken livers you get in Nando's??? Craving some right now.

orangejuicer · 09/10/2018 23:19

I want caffeine!

Spooples · 10/10/2018 08:56

Since being pregnant I've constantly craved a really cold cider, and brie with crackers. I know what I'm having once this little girl pops out! Haha

TinyMarie · 10/10/2018 09:01

I stood staring at the pate in the supermarket last night. Pate and white wine!
