So I'm in agony! Almost 30 weeks and the pain in my hips and lower back is unbearable due to PGP/ SPD. In addition, baby is currently breech and the kicks down below are so strong they feel like electric shocks. I've literally just had to admit defeat, get my comfies on and get in bed.

Seeing the physio on the 23rd but does anyone have any tips to ease the pain? I've tried soaking in the bath and paracetamol 😢

I've heard that ice helps?? And I've been told to bounce/ roll my hips on an exercise/ birthing ball...

I haven't been diagnosed with spd, but oh my god so much pain!!!! I'm only 18 weeks and have been in increasing pain since about 11 weeks?

Not sure when pelvic pain becomes diagnosable/ what is 'normal' in pregnancy in terms of low low back and crotch pain.

I had this, but not to the same extent, in my first pregnancy but this time round it's so much worse. I hadn't heard of the ice so I will definitely try that thank you.

My advice would be to get a referral into physio ASAP, the waiting list is so long in my ares it's taken 2 months to get an appointment 😩

Hot water bottle has helped me.

Also going to physio has helped - I've seen someone privately for £36 rather than wait for nhs- I would recommend this rather than wait for 23rd x

Yes, a birthing ball will help. I suffered in my first pregnancy and bounced from 26 weeks. I also went to a physio group class after a referral. Unfortunately they will tell you to keep moving. It's all about balance. 20-30 minutes doing the prescribed exercises on your ball 2-3 times a day plus 20-30 minutes of walking 2-3 times a day is good, plus resting up. If you become static the problems can get worse. You also might need a support band/ belt I would look into one of these ASAP. You might only need a one off session with a private physio to show you how to do appropriate exercises and give you a support but it would be worth it. Also moving gives baby a better chance of turning from breech. I'm not a pro by the way just personal experience.

Ive been seeing a chiropractor for my PGP, have a physio appt on weds as my midwife referred me once she found out I was paying for a chiropractor! It's helped me massively. That and sitting on the ball, regular baths and sleeping with a pillow in between my legs.
