DP and I have only just found out we're expecting, and of course anything could happen so we're not planning on buying anything just yet, but I'm trying to compose a list of essentials and costs so we can figure out how much to put in to our baby savings each month to cover it.

Things like pram, Moses basket, steriliser etc.

Would be interested to hear what you have all got and how much it's cost you ❤️

Gumtree is great for bargains, we have got quite a few items off there which are new and unopened, mostly due to being unwanted gifts - to give you some examples of savings we’ve got:
Nursery glider chair and stool £35 (rrp £150)
Tommee Tippee Perfect Prep £30 (rrp £90)
Snuzpod 3 £130 (rrp £200)
Tommee Tippee nappy bin £8 (rrp £28)

We also got a second hand Mamas and Papas changing table for £15 from Gumtree, as I just could not justify spending hundreds on nursery furniture.

Our pram is iCandy and was a floor model used for instore demos so we also saved a couple of hundred pounds on that - noticed that quite a few independent baby stores have flash sales for end-of-line stock, so worth keeping an eye on their Facebook pages.

Got an great deal on a car seat bundle online from Pramworld - about half the price of the equivalent bundle in M&P or Mothercare.

So my advice is to start early-ish (we started buying after 20 week scan) and keep your eyes peeled for bargains, they do exist!

Good luck ☺️

I think the one that adds up is clothes. Would say avoid buying 0-3 months as if you have a baby shower people are likely to buy that size for you.

Check out ebay and local market selling places usually there's a mums 2 mums event too which you can buy either brand new never used bits or second hand that just needs a clean up!

Things I remember getting:

Next cot bed - selling market - Free
Mammas papas Wardrobe and changing table - ebay - £30
Sling - car boot - £3
Tomee tippe Sterliser - mums 2 mums - £2

There are more just can't think of them 😂

If you look for it you'll find them at reasonable costs unless you want to spend a lot and have the money too I guess
