BMI at booking in appointment - worried :-(

Hi all

I'm currently 5w pregnant with DC2. My DS is 18 months and since then struggled to lose the final few pounds of my baby weight. Current BMI is around 26 which I think is overweight.

I'm trying to be very sensible before my booking in appointment but worried the BMI measurement will stay at 26.

Does anyone know if this have any implications for my pregnancy? I'm worried this will make me consultant led or the midwives might lecture me ☹️

My BMI at booking was also 33 and I am still low risk and mid wife led.

My first pregnancy was in the health range, this time round I was 28 at booking in. It was mentioned and I have found that at every scan following my booking in there is a disclaimer saying obstructed view due to bmi. However I had a scan before my booking in and before they knew my bmi and there was nothing on the paperwork and if anything my scans were clearer this time than last. Just be prepared for something like that as it can make you feel a bit rubbish. I don’t think they seem to be that bothered unless you hit 30. Whether it is weight related or not (could be age or just having a toddler), I have noticed this pregnancy has been harder on my joints. If I have a third, I’d definitely try a bit harder to get my bmi down before Ttc. My extra weight wasn’t even really baby weight- I piled it on after going back to work and comfort eating.

We had no issues with restricted view due to BMI, but I have always carried my weight on my arse/thighs rather than stomach. BMI currently well over 30 (I assume as now 33 weeks and size of a beached whale) and no reported issues with views on scan last week.

I have a bmi of 29.9 and never got questioned, I was 86.5kg at start of pregnancy and now with one a week will I m due I m 89kg and I ve been eating.loads and loads of chocolate so I wouldn't worry.
Bmi is a pile of rubbish anyway, it doesn't take into account muscle x

My BMI was 37 at booking in.

Medical staff haven't mentioned it since.

I had already lost weight before getting pregnant though, so I think they understand that lecturing me about my weight will be fruitless as I had already taken steps to address it.
