Stretch marks are genetic so creams are unfortunately a waste of money.

Put it towards a decent haircut or a pregnancy massage or a nice lunch out with friends or something instead.

What @pastabest said is true, you will either get them or you won't depending on your genetics and natural skin elasticity- HOWEVER I've been using palmers bump cream just because it smells nice and helps soothe the stretchy itchy feeling.

Wow I did not know that stretch marks were genetic! That's so interesting. I have been using Neals Yard mothers balm since 20 weeks and I love it. I thought it was working a treat as no stretch marks at all, but now you're saying it's genetic I'm thinking differently!!

The stretching that causes stretch marks happens in layers of skin too deep for moisturising creams to reach. Some people get them, some people don't, it's skin type rather than anything you do.

Unfortunately the other posters are true - no amount of expensive creams will stop them, it's all in your genes. I didn't have a single one till I was 37 weeks and then I got absolutely hammered.

I've used bio oil since around 12 weeks and (touchwood!!!) haven't had any and I'm 36 + 3 now.
Not sure how good it is if you have already got them but may prevent them from spreading any more?
