Hello,
I am having a cervical length scan tomorrow. It was only organised yesterday at clinic and I completely forgot to ask for important bits of info! I had one 2.5 years ago but can't remember so if anyone has had one recently did you have to have a full bladder?
TIA!

No - it is an internal scan (like ano early scan) - no full bladder required.

I had one as part of 20week scan. Didn't need a full bladder and took less than 5 mins!

Brilliant..I know it's internal but my mind went blank if I still needed a full bladder!
Thanks for the quick responses :)

Do I need a urine sample?

Probably not urine sample - not required at mine anyway.

No you won't need a full bladder. They don't generally need a urine sample but might do a swab if your cervical length is short.

Thanks I might just take one incase!

Everytime I had a cervical length scan I had all the normal checks too like bp and urine, I used to go weekly and they did it as standard

I had mine as part of my twenty week scan, so full bladder for the first bit, then told to empty and went back in for the cervical length internal. SIL hasn't even been offered one!

Thegirlwithnousername · 05/10/2018 13:41

I don't think they are regularly offered are they?.
I had mine this morning..Incase anyone finds this while googling..I didn't have to have a full bladder and no urine needed for a dipstick..Next one is arranged for my 20 week scan so that's a bit different.
