Aw I had this three days before my baby was due! I managed to talk it through with my midwife and find some calm. My birth was really fast and easier than I thought. The midwives really want what is best for you. It might help to write down your worries and see how illogical they are. Xxx

Honest once it starts you sort of get into it and zone out...
Just think how many women you know who flew through it all.

I’m due in March if all goes well. I’ve switched myself off from thinking about it and figured I have no control so what’s the point in thinking about it. I’ve even been detached about the pregnancy since anything could go wrong. Friends are telling me to enjoy it but I’ve been way too logical so far 😂

It’s normal to have thoughts about it though, it’s your body at the end of the day. Have you spoke to MW about it? It may help you to speak to them?

I was paranoid about birthing for my first. I'd go through stages of wanting to know absolutely every possibility and outcome and not wanting to know at all.
I think it's great to have the knoelwdge of most things that could happen medical intervention wise, so that you're better informed at the moment it's happened as it is all a bit of a blur really.
But there really isn't any point stressing or thinking about it until a lot, lot closer to the date.
And at the end of the day, you manage to get through it, even the horrible stories of childbirth the women get through and go on to have more.
Do speak to your midwife about specifics and try to relax about it, the easier and smoother things will be if you are, good luck!

Try to work through your anxiety, and I'm told in labour, if you're worrying your adrenaline goes up, and oxytocin goes down, and you don't want that as that's what stimulates contractions. I'm booked in for Hypnobirth classes at the end of the month as planning a home birth and I am anticipating it to all be very airy fairy but one thing I've read from the handout in advance which has really boosted my confidence in labour is that "your job is to focus on the birth you want. You have a midwife to consider the 'what ifs' and 'just in cases'. That's part of their job. If you focus on what 'might' go wrong, that's where your mind will tend to lead you". I don't know why but that has cleared off my last little bit of anxiety x

Please speak to your midwife and allay your fears.
