Hello lovely people,

I'm 16+2 weeks and have been signed off for another month after previously having 6 weeks off for hypermesis... I'm severely anemic and quite poorly, so being off is the safest thing for me physically.

But mentally, it's tough! my husband is amazing and I really look forward to him coming home from work, but I need to find a way to stay sane during the long days alone... Basically just check in for any top tips you have for staying fit mentally while on sick leave, and how you might have filled your time in a similar position? I'm finding was not very much to do that I get quite anxious, and I don't want to get stressed because if I'm stressed and my baby is stressed! So I'd really love your help :)

Thank you in advance!
MrsG

Netflix and NowTV boxsets 😂 also you could use the time to do research for all your baby items such as buggies, swings, cribs, etc. Pinterest your ideas - which I found very therapeutic. Short daily walks also if you can manage? Or simple baking perhaps? I made tray bakes on my last sick leave during pregnancy haha didn’t help weight gain one bit x

Hiya! I'm in a similar position, I'm 32+3 and have been signed off since 27 weeks with severe SPD/PGP.

I've found box sets and reading have worked to occupy my brain so far especially as I can't really walk so I'm literally bed/sofa bound as much as possible. I'm going to start some cross stitching too though, and I've got some colouring books because I really love colouring Blush I also spend a great deal of time on MN Wink

I imagine it's very hard if you're feeling ill all the time. I am 23 weeks and counting down to mat leave to be honest, really struggling with commute and finding walking painful. But I suspect if I was signed off it would be good for a few weeks and then very boring. Second baking, cooking and trying to get out of the house once a day for some fresh air.
