So baby is measuring slightly small
I have a 3 year old who in my view was absolute angel child- very content baby and a great sleeper. Was discussing this with a friend today and she said it’s cause he was a big baby and drank all his bottles and was so full and to not expect the same again!
I’d never thought of this before- so just out of curiosity have you found the same ?

Er no.... not in my experience!

My above 98 centile DS is still a bad sleeper at 3.5, My 4month 50th centile DD sleeps brilliantly in comparison.

No I can't imagine there's any correlation between weight and sleep? My boy was 6lb4 and we've been incredibly lucky in that he's slept well since about 12 weeks.

Angelmiracle · 30/09/2018 15:20

9lb9oz DS silent refluxer worst sleeper for 2 years!

ConsiderHerWaysAndOthers · 30/09/2018 15:30

Probably more likely to be the bit about drinking all his bottles, as in he was stuffed full of formula, rather than his birth weight!

ButAIBUtho · 30/09/2018 17:07

My children were huge babies and awful sleepers.

So no.

Thesearmsofmine · 30/09/2018 17:09

Nope!

Luckystar1 · 30/09/2018 17:13

Nope mine were 8lb 11 and 9lb. Neither sleep through the night still... they’re now 2 and almost 4 😩

My baby was 2nd percentile until nearly 12m and was a good sleeper from day 1.

JellySlice · 30/09/2018 17:15

No.

My best sleeper was my smallest baby and my worst sleeper was my biggest baby.

pinkhorse · 30/09/2018 17:16

Mine was 8lb 8oz and slept through from 5 weeks

PenApple · 30/09/2018 17:17

Sorry my last one was 10lb 9oz and he still only sleeps through half the time at 14 months...

My 9lbers slept through from 6 months.

SoyDora · 30/09/2018 20:46

My 98th centile DD2 woke up every 40 minutes for 6 months.

LusaCole · 30/09/2018 20:49

My three DC all weighed a similar amount at birth (between 8lb7 and 8lb10) but ranged from a great sleeper (DC2) to a terrible one (DC3) via an average one (DC1).

welshweasel · 30/09/2018 20:50

Mine was 5lb 9oz and has always been a great sleeper.

Verbena87 · 30/09/2018 20:51

I had a 10lb9oz baby and he is a pretty good sleeper and has been from birth, bar the odd night of cluster-feeding. He’s breastfed and does wake around 5 and burrow around for a boob, but is now 1 so pretty much feeds himself while I continue to doze.

redsummershoes · 30/09/2018 20:53

nope
'tiny' 7lb dc was a great sleeper compared to 9lb dc2...

AfterSchoolWorry · 30/09/2018 20:54

I've worked in plenty of baby rooms over the years. No correlation!

IRememberSoIDo · 30/09/2018 20:54

Mine were average and were utterly shit sleepers but so was I at 9lbs 8 myself. I didn't sleep til I was five.........

RedPandaMama · 30/09/2018 20:57

Not from my experience. DD was 7lb 6 born so quite average but very quickly went up to 99th centile and still is 90+ age 13 months. She still doesn't sleep well Sad

Watto1 · 30/09/2018 20:58

DD was an 11 pounder! Hard to believe as she's a skinny little thing now at age 10. She did sleep through quite early on. Ds was also a big baby (9lbs) but didn't sleep through the night until he was nearly 1.

BertieBotts · 30/09/2018 21:04

No. DS1 slept loads better than DS2 and was smaller. DS2 is also greedier and drinks more but it doesn't seem to help. I'm not worried - it'll come in time :)

Fatted · 30/09/2018 21:07

Both of mine were big babies and have slept well (at night at least with my eldest) since very young.

I'd love to say it was because of X, Y and Z but in reality, I think it it's just how they are. They were never ones for keeping me awake at night moving lots at night when I was pregnant either.
