Bleeding in early Pregnancy

Hi, Me and my partner have been trying to conceive for 10months and last week found out we were pregnant ( around 6 weeks).
I made a Dr's appointment to confirm but on Tuesday i started to bleed and get pains.
As the day progressed the bleeding became heavy (heavier than my usual period) and alot of clots.
When i went to the Dr's the urine test came back negative and the Dr said it could just be a late period or early Miscarriage. I have been for blood tests this morning to try and clear things up but i am just so confused.
We did 6 home pregnancy tests and all came back positive but now the Dr said they could of been false positives.

Has anyone had this before as i don't really know what is happening, i feel like i'm losing my mind or the Dr thinks i'm making it up.
I cant stop crying as we were so happy and now i'm really worried.

False positives are extremely rare. See what the blood test results say but it sounds like either a miscarriage or a chemical pregnancy. Sad keep an eye on the pregnancy tests and blood tests! Mine kept going negative then positive and turned out I was having an ectopic pregnancy! I'm so sorry you're going through this Thanks

Thank you for your message .
Yes we have done some research and read that it was very rare so we didn't understand.
I have been very achy and just feeling generally rubbish, this is our first pregnancy so all very new for us.
The Dr said she will try and get the Blood results back by the end of today so we will hopefully be abit clearer on things tonight.

Thank you

Yes, it sounds like an early miscarriage. Pregnancy tests (yours and the doctor’s) detect hCG, which your body produces if you’re pregnant. Your hCG levels rise in early pregnancy but fall again with a miscarriage, which is why your tests and the doctor’s tests could give different results.

Blood tests also look for hCG but can give you a definite number of how much there is in your bloodstream. So this can be useful if you need to monitor it rising or falling, or to help rule out things like ectopic pregnancy. But it can only tell you what the hCG level is when the blood was taken - it doesn’t mean your home tests before were wrong or you were making them up.

I’m sorry you’re going through this. The Miscarriage Association website has some great advice and support: www.miscarriageassociation.org.uk

Yes I think this is what we have prepared ourselves for :-( we haven't told anyone so just needed someone to speak to and ask advice on the situation before I drive myself mad with questions.

I guess what is meant to be will be ..... Thankyou xx
