Hi Everyone,
I'm reeling a bit from news that my 'tummy bug' is actually my second pregnancy! I feel so so shocked! DS is 5 months old, i'm EBF and DH and I have only had sex 3 times since DS was born!!! (I know it only takes once though- haha!)
Anyone else have 2 babies with a tiny age gap? Any tips or advice?
We always planned more children, just not so soon!! I am feeling grateful, just stunned!!

Congratulations!

I have the same gap as you, DD is nearly 20 months and Ds is 5 1/2 months. Honestly it isn't that bad and totally do able. Don't get me wrong, I am shattered, but I spent the whole pregnancy worrying about this that and the other and it's been fine.

Best bit of kit I bought was the doona carseat buggy, honestly it has been the best money I have ever spent. I can get Ds strapped up and ready to go whilst in the house so don't have to faff outside. If he falls asleep I don't have to wake him getting out. The handle is extendable so DD can push it and feel part of things. Because she can push it, and loves too, it's a great way to keep her close by when moving from car to house.

Honestly, look it up, it's bloody marvelous.

Thank you @Pops!! Excellent tips!! We have a kari-me sling, so i imagine DC2 will spend their early days in there! Haha! I've been looking about for double prams too @myother, i'd ideally like tandem and both parent facing... i haven't found anything yet but i'll let you know if i do! @Pops, i know what you mean about planning, i guess this way it's taken out of our hands! Haha! x

@Namechangemum100 I love the Doona, it looks amazing, but what did you do about your DD. Did she not need a pram?

My DD1 will be 15 months when DD2 is born, so I'm guessing she'll still need a pram. Xx

DD walked at 11 months, so by 15 months she was pretty steady but didn't like to walk for long periods, therefore I carried her in a little life hiking backpack thing so she could come up and down as she pleased.

I did this because Ds HATED the carrycot with a passion, and would fall asleep so easily in the doona so this was a way to keep him in it. I wish it would fit a buggy board, then it would be literally perfect.

Now at 5 1/2 months he is in his proper pram seat, we have a mountain buggy duet and it is also highly recommended, although you will need a big boot.

@myotherbag I had a Phil & Teds double - one on top and one underneath. Baby goes underneath in a carry cot. Chose this because where we live isn’t double buggy friendly but if you’re in a city icandy do a lovely double with the seats facing each other. We’re in the countryside so needed something that could cope with lots of off-roading.
