Does getting the flu jab during pregnancy protect mum or baby ? I said no to getting it as I would like to build an immune system up myself especially where I'm quite young but does it benefit the baby at all ?

I think there were two vaccines last year. A trivalent, which covered two A strains and a B strain, and a quad which covered 2 A and 2 B. Unfortunately it was the B strain that wasn’t in the trivalent that caused some issues. I got the quad from my GP because of a health condition, but the trust I work in and the trust a family member works in both gave the trivalent to their staff.

My friend's mum got flu while in the early stages of pregnancy and her baby was born blind due to the development of the eyes being disrupted due to the illness

I've never heard of anyone getting ill from the jab

Sounds like you're the sort of person who believes rumours and Facebook shares above actual science and fact though, so it's probably pointless trying to tell you all this
