Breastfeeding after elective c section

I'm due to have my ELCS next week and wondering how ladies who had one, how they found breastfeeding afterwards?
I didn't BF DD1 due to lack of support, so I'm desperate to give it a good go this time around. (Last birth was vaginal.)
Also did your milk come in straight away, as I've heard it doesn't with CSHmm?
I have a breastfeeding nurse visiting next week to help with harvesting my colostrum, wondering as well if anyone has any experience with this and how it was for you?

I had a C-section under general anesthesia almost 3 years ago. Still breastfeeding today. What helped me was a book called Breastfeeding Made Simple, the milk meg and Kelly mom websites. And not having any backup bottles or formula in the house. Many people will suggest you have some in, but with 24hr supermarkets nearby, I preferred to assume we wouldn't need any. I expressed lots of colostrum ahead of time, and never used it as the hospital lost it.

I had an ECS 7 weeks ago due to dd being breech and everything happened as it should. Colostrum straight away and a gradual increase in milk supply. I'd had no leaking or anything beforehand so it was all from dd arriving!
That's great the breastfeeding nurse is visiting, they will be a great support hopefully.

I had two ELCS, and could have fed a village both times. Yep, your baby will have a couple of grumpy days while they nurse a lot, get colostrum and wait for the milk to come in. They would with a vaginal delivery too. If you can, nursing in recovery is a good idea, but not essential.

I had mine 10 days ago- milk came in on day 3. I did have to top up with formula until my milk came in as DC blood sugars weren’t stable, but it didn’t cause any issues. Previous section was done under GA, and it did take longer for my milk to come in that time, but again just topped up with formula as needed and stopped once my milk was through. Good luck!

3 ELCS’s here. It didn’t cause me any issues at all. Milk came in as normal. Didn’t need to top up.

I was fine after my elcs. They put him on my chest as soon as he was born and he was grumpy and I could tell he was searching for the breast straight away. But wires etc in the way and they were stitching me up so I couldn't position him. As soon as we got to recovery they put him in a better position on my chest and he fed straight away. That was our breastfeeding established straight away, and I was amazed because I struggled for weeks and gave up with my first born by emcs. Try to feed asap is my advice

EMCS with DC1 three years ago and ELCS with DC2 one year ago. Both latched on in recovery and both still feed now (DC1 fed through my pregnancy with DC2). Colostrum as normal and milk on day three each time too. I'd assumed I wouldn't be able to breastfeed so this has been a pleasant surprise!
