Shooting pains down below

I haven't yet had my first scan yet so not 100% sure how far along I am, somewhere between 7-10 weeks due to irregular cycles!

Last week when I was laid in bed one night I started to feel shooting pains down below as if something was stabbing me upwards 🙈 and it felt really heavy down there! It didn't last very long and wasn't exactly painful so I didn't think anything of it. But then yesterday and today it is happening again on and off. Iv heard of this later on in pregnancy but not at the beginning does anyone know if this is normal or if I should be worried?

Waiting for my letter through the post for a scan, very anxious as had early mc this time last year and took all this time to fall again.

Any information is much appreciated, thanks!

I remember these type of pains ! I was told it was the baby implanting, I had had 4 miscarriages before so was obviously worried and this one turned out to be a healthy boy. Im sure all will be fine x

Thank you for your reply @pumpkinpie01

I'd have thought by at least 7 weeks implantation would be complete?
I have had some cramping today too which has made me even more nervous! Hoping it's just because of the fizzy drinks I had yesterday, i usually hate fizzy drinks and I know I shouldn't drink them but it's the only thing that stops my nausea atm 😩

Anyone else experienced this?

charliefarli · 22/09/2018 12:55

Yes. Im 10 weeks pregnant. In the last 4 days Ive had tabby type pains in the centre of the uterus (best way I cant describe it). Also it feels heavy down there. Its on and off for me. Lasts for about 5 minutes when it happens. Having read around it and looked into it, it appears that its the ligaments and muscles stretching due to the growth of the uterus.

sorry stabby not tabby!

I definitely had these at about that time.

My midwife referred to them as ‘fanny daggers’ and yes, I think from memory it’s ligaments stretching and tissue adapting. Currently trapped under sleeping 1 year old, so they weren’t a bad sign here!

I remember these from pregnancy - learnt on here that they are knufs...knitting needle up fanjo....who knew??!!

Thank you for your replies, what funny names they have for it 🙈 it has eased off the past couple of days, just feels like there is a lot going on down there which is probably because there is!
