2nd baby and I remember using Aldi Nappies with my first 3years ago which were brill, although only size 1 & 2! Anyone recommend them now? Quality?

Pampers? I've got 6weeks left so need to get organised. Also would it be to early to buy water wipes next week?

here is a review for the aldi nappies. everyone seems very happy with them:

for water wipes, these are designed for newborns so should be absolutely fine.

I really liked little angels from Asda with my first 2... they had the great wetness indicator on the smaller sizes. Found I had very few leaks and the were good value for money. My ds is still in nappies and I wouldn’t use anything else. Have tried lidls, pampers, Tesco and such but much prefer Asda for value and comfort x

Katinkak8 · 19/09/2018 19:22

I've used all of the sizes of Aldi nappy up yo size 5 so far. We're more than happy with them. We've tried Pampers, Sainsbury's, boots and tesco but had leaks with them/didn't feel that they fit so well. I would definitely recommend them. Most people I know also use Aldi nappies.
We used the Aldi extra sensitive wipes from newborn too (I think they were called newborn ones at the time). No problems using those instead of water wipes, although that could just have been luck! Xxx

Tilliebean · 19/09/2018 19:22

I’m another vote for ASDA brand!

myotherbagisgucci · 19/09/2018 19:24

I always get little angel nappies from Asda. I've tried Tesco, Aldi, Pampers, mum and you and Asda's have always been the best for us.

I did like mum and you, but they are ridiculously expensive!

PaulHollywoodsSexGut · 19/09/2018 19:24

Aldi are good but IMHO only sizes 3 and above.

Tesco win for us hands down as we have long babies and they are very high; the Simon Cowell waistband of nappies.

NEVER buy Sainsbury’s - they literally burnt the skin off my baby son’s arse. Awful, just awful. And teeny tiny.

doodlejump1980 · 19/09/2018 19:26

Waterwipes are on offer in boots at the mo

NewNameDueToMyIdiocy · 19/09/2018 19:38

Aldi are fab! We used Naty biodegradable nappies initially and they were (unfortunately) horrible, so stiff and crispy (and leaky)... switched to Aldi and they were amazing in comparison, so soft (although I think anything would have been compared to the bio ones)!
We have also used Pampers sometimes but they're no better in my opinion! Possibly hold slightly more for overnight nappies, but that's more of a concern with an older baby or toddler than a newborn.
I also like the ASDA ones, but we don't live near enough to a store to get them regularly.

unicorncham · 19/09/2018 20:13

Aldi ones are great, and my favourite are Lidl (but only in size 1 and 2, then they get a bit thin)
Asda I only like size 3 and up. I find their 1s and 2s very small (but maybe I just make bigger babies!)

brodiee · 20/09/2018 04:16

Love aldi! Pampers are my fave for softness but I rarely buy because of price. Tesco are good. Sainsbury's I found to be awful and plasticky. Can't go wrong with aldi nappies or wipes 👍🏻

BlueBug45 · 20/09/2018 05:17

Depends on size of your baby. Haven't used Asda but found Aldi newborn size 1 great for a smaller baby while Lidl and Pampers newborn are too big.

PhilomenaButterfly · 20/09/2018 05:19

Another vote for Asda Little Angels.

MaverickSnoopy · 20/09/2018 07:01

I just tend to use a mixture. Currently stocked up on Aldi, Lidl and pampers for my newborn when they arrive.

Have recently done a MN product trial for the Lidl nappies for my 2yo and found them brilliant. Also recently discovered that their size 1 nappies have a little cut out for the umbilical chord stub so it doesn't rub so I'll be using those when they're first born. Lidl are winning for me at the moment.

Charlottejade89 · 20/09/2018 07:34

Ish g Aldi nappies on my 8 week old dd and i love them, no leaks so far. I used some pampers when she was first born as I had loads of free samples but I found they felt almost soaked through after just one wee and they smelt as well

Baby160P · 20/09/2018 07:51

Incase anyone wants to know the huggies non scented water wipes are £6 for 12 packs and pampers are 72 nappies for £6. We've just stocked up.

Baby160P · 20/09/2018 07:51

In Asda baby event 😂

MsHopey · 20/09/2018 08:03

Me or MIL stock up in papers when they're half price.
I've tried aldi and Tescos and they feel a but like a bin bag.
Pampered are very soft and have never irritated DS. I am normally very cheap and go for the cheaper option, but I really think pampers are the best.
We had aldi's on formula, aldi's own wipes when he was old enough, but the few times we've used other nappies I haven't liked them.
But as you can see everyone has a different opinion.

lifechangesforever · 20/09/2018 08:11

Pampers for us so we can get them through Amazon subscribe & save. DD has them on all night and we haven't leaked once.

I do also like Aldi thoughts

Firsttimemum892 · 20/09/2018 08:30

I found Asda ones good but very bulky , we often go to Costco and I stock up on pampers as I find them best but if not I’ve recently been using Sainsbury’s own brand which I find very good !

SiolGhoraidh · 20/09/2018 16:40

We like the Aldi newborn nappies and they contain incredible amounts of poo! Pampers seem to be identical but more expensive.
I bought a huge box of huggies wipes at costco that we're working through, but will switch to aldi ones after that

MonkeyToucher · 21/09/2018 13:18

In my experience it totally depends on the shape of your baby! My DS is very tall and skinny with quite skinny legs - hands down the best for him are Asda little angels. Aldi were recommended by loads of people but the leaked badly for us. With hindsight friends who rave about Aldi have much chubbier legged babies....

butlerswharf · 21/09/2018 13:33

We used to get Pampers but one day they'd run out in Boots so we got Boots own brand. They're identical to Pampers and less than half the price.

butlerswharf · 21/09/2018 13:33

Have tried Tesco and Sainsbury's once and both were awful in comparison. Just nowhere near as soft.

BlueKittens · 21/09/2018 13:57

Pampers from Costco are very good value- I’m pretty sure they’re just as cheap as Aldi. We’ve never had a leak, but the random nappies used by nursery haven’t been very good (we supply our own but sometimes our DD ends up in another child’s nappy- a variety of own brands I think).
