I have a tilted uterus; it’s quite severe and was always told it might affect conception. I have carried 2 DC to term and currently pregnant with DC3. I have suffered really bad with Sciatica in both pregnancies because of the way my uterus sits and had hematomas in both pregnancies but had healthy children and unassisted vaginal births.
I wouldn’t worry about being a week or so behind - you may find by the time you get to 12 weeks they an give you a more accurate dating. Congratulations and don’t worry, it will be fine xx

Me. I went for an early scan at only 5 weeks due to bleeding, and they told me at that scan is was too hard to see anything. They did tell me it's normal to have a titled uterus as i was worried. This was my second baby and never knew before hand! It didn't cause any problems. I went back for a scan 2 weeks later and there was the yolk and sac and heartbeat. I'm now sat cuddling my 6 week old. Just to add, the bleeding was completely unrelated to my uterus. Try not to worry, I know its difficult but I really wish I'd of enjoyed my pregnancy more rather than worrying so much! X

I have a tilted uterus it made it difficult for them to see in scans and ment I ended up having back to back labours with all 3 dc but other than that never actually caused any problems.

I have a tilted uterus and in all three of my pregnancies all scans done before 20 weeks have been difficult! I had to go back to repeat my 12 week scan with all of them.

SoyDora · 18/09/2018 12:30

Also had back to back labour with my first, but not my second.

I've got one, tilts backwards, apparently half of women have it my midwife said so that was reassuring!

I recently had my 12 week scan and was told I had a tilted uterus which I never knew of before! They couldn’t get a clear view of the baby so they had to an internal scan to see the baby more better.
I don’t know much about a tilted uterus but I hope it doesn’t cause any difficulties during my pregnancy/Labour!

They say between week 10-12 because the babys growing it should tilt foward again , iv had a wee boy before but didn't get scans untill i was later on so i don't know if iv always had a tilted uterus x

Yeah, when I had my 12 week scans repeated at 13 weeks it had always tipped forward enough for them to do the scan (due to the size of the baby).

Bees1 · 18/09/2018 20:12

I found out I had a retroverted uterus at my 12week scan, I have a healthy BMI etc but due to the position of my uterus they had to do an internal scan at 12weeks to get all the measurements etc. I was told it was really common and that the uterus moves forward by 16weeks. Needless to say by my 20week scan it was in a normal position but apparently they normally go back to the retroverted postition after delivery so the same issue arises in subsequent pregnancies.

Yes I have one. Got bad sciatica with all 3 pregnancies but other than had good pregnancies and normal births. My early scans were out by a few weeks too. I knew before I fell pregnant as sex can be painful sometimes because of it.

Two DC. Scans were not great, I opted to have them done vaginally, had to go back. The midwife always said I was small for dates etc. Both my children were fine.
