Went to the supermarket earlier and oh my god the fanny daggers! (Sorry I hate that phrase but can't think of a good alternative). Every few steps was a stabbing pain and I had to walk soooo slowly and stop loads. I'm home now and it's still going on albeit less than when I was walking round. I've not had this so far. Sure, I've had the occasional fanny daggers but one-offs - not like this! Is this a sign of approaching labour? If not, how do people survive getting around with this sort of stabbing pain? It's like a knitting needle stabbing me in the cervix!!

For me I get that symptom (pregnant or not) when I have a UTI

Oh no!! Thanks - I have to see the midwife later this week anyway and she checks urine each time so I'll soon find out! I definitely didn't have this the last time I had a UTI though - it was more of a burning!

Is baby engaged? Could be baby pressing on cervix? I get FD too but I've got PGP. You're term tho so fingers crossed things are going in the right direction for you :)

Horrible feeling, DD used to use my cervix to practice her head banging.

Oh god I remember that. And tummy button daggers too. Just awful.

Baby wasn't engaged at all at my last midwife appointment a fortnight ago but maybe things have moved on by now! It definitely feels different down there- I've been on long walks with no.problem up until now! Yes- I have mild pgp too but this feels very very different... it's like something trying to claw it's way out of me (horrible description sorry!).
Thanks for the replies. Guess I'll have to wait until my midwife appointment later this week!

I had never heard of the term 'fanny daggers'! It's amazing - thank you! 🙏
