One Clearblue Digital pregnancy test

Hi all,

I only did one ClearBlue Digital pregnancy test which confirmed I was pregnant nearly 3 weeks ago which is great! However, the more I read on here, I realise that many women have tended to POAS more than once (possibly loads of times!). I didn't want to be one of those paranoid women who did that, but I can understand why they do it now!

I'm also not currently experiencing too many symptoms (I'm 7+3) - only sore boobs, a bit of abdominal discomfort at the start (like you were about to get AF), and a lot mire tiredness than usual. Other than that, I've had hardly any symptoms at all, and am half tempted to do some more tests to make sure I'm actually pregnant! I know it sounds silly, but I only did one (which, in reality, is enough!), and made sure it was a digital one so I wasn't second guessing the result, but some times I think to myself, am I really pregnant?!! Am I just imagining it?!

Sorry, feeling like it's still quite unbelievable! I've been to my GP already and have a midwife appointment next week, so hopefully it will become more real then!

Did anyone else just do one test? And were your nerves ok just doing the one test?!!

I did 3 in total.

2 to confirm pregnancy (I didn’t believe the first one!) and then one at 6ish weeks just to check again 😂

The MW did a dip test at my booking so I managed on just those until my scan :)

I just did one with DS, I wasn't part of any forums or anything at the time and it never occurred to me that people would do more than one! I did two with DD, but only because it was a two pack!

aburrow93 · 17/09/2018 12:16

Only did one! Had exactly the same symptoms as you. It never felt real at 12 week scan I was terrified there would be nothing there. I'm now 23 weeks and it still doesn't feel real 😂 it does for a few days after a scan and listening to the heartbeat but then goes again. I now have a big bump and can feel kicks and it's starting to kick in I'm having a baby

Chocolatecoffeeaddict · 17/09/2018 12:17

I've got four kids and have always just done the two tests you get in the one box, as I've always had the test line darker than the control line so was reassured.
But with my fourth baby because I tested at 10dpo and didn't have many symptoms at first and my test line was faint, I tested every day until it was darker.

@aburrow93 that's exactly how I feel! Terrified for 12 week scan as I'm expecting nothing to be there! Hopefully all will be ok! Congratulations though, it's good to hear other people have experienced exactly the same as I am!

@TokyoSushi I think you were right not to have joined forums! I also didn't realise people did more than one test either - I thought one was enough, but realise many women do multiple and it got me worried!

I'm paranoid that I didn't do more than one test, but I'd also be very paranoid if I did!

I think sometimes people that do too many can get themselves in a right muddle if the test comes back a bit different. The way I kept thinking was that id had no bleeding and no pains I shouldnt be having so everything should be fine! The midwife will reassure you! I think we would probably still be terrified for the 12 week scan even if we had taken a test the day before, you never know what to expect or if everything will be okay. Fingers crossed for you.

clairelee17 · 17/09/2018 12:47

@aburrow93 you're so right! Thanks for your reassurance. I'm on the same wavelength- if no pains or bleeding, it should be fine! Finger crossed :)

@clairelee I am one of those paranoid women who have done lots of tests. I have had a previous miscarriage so I guess that has added to my paranoia. Personally I wouldn’t recommend this path. You won’t get conclusive answers and it will probably stress you out! This time round I have booked private blood tests and a private scan. I am not bothering with pregnancy tests as they aren’t a reliable way for telling you whether your pregnancy is viable.

Bump

One test is enough! I only took one test with this pregnancy and I am now 30 weeks and definitely pregnant. I took about 6 tests with my first pregnancy and, when I told the GP, she looked at me like I was crazy and said "one is enough". Most people start getting real pregnancy symptoms at 8 weeks so I wouldn't worry.

Thanks @antipodeanjo
