I went in for reduced movements last week, they sent me for a scan too where they saw baby is measuring small so have growth scans now.
My next growth scan is tomrorow morning however last couple of days she’s gone really quiet again, yesterday she barely moved then had one very active moment I’d say it lasted about 2 minutes she was kicking felt like my whole bump was shaking !

But now again I’ve been led on my left side for 1 hour and felt nothing ?
But I have a scan in the morning so unsure wether to ring !

Should have said I’m 30 weeks!

If you have any reservations at all, please just call them. Both of my children had to be delivered early (still after 37 weeks, however) due to reduced movement. It's not worth the risk. Always better to be safe and make sure all is fine in there.

For peace of mind , I would call triage and see what they say . Realistically any reduced movement should be looked at and I know you feel a pain in the ass going in but I promise you your not and those couple of hours of waiting to be seen or placed on the trace are beyond worth it for the joy you feel when you know everything is ok and you can get into bed knowing little bean is all good and see him / her in the morning ! Xx

I'd call up. They can only tell you not to come in. I'm sure the midwives would rather check than have missed an issue.

It’s just that feeling of am I wasting time if I’m there in the morning anyway! I’ve read conflicting advice online some say look for 10 movements in 12 hours ? Some say 10 movements in 2 hours ?!

It's about how much movement is normal for you.

They really do want you to ring if you are concerned at all

You have done the lie down for an hour, the next step really is to ring your maternity assessment centre

Don't worry about hassling them, it is absolutely part of what they are there for

Just ring them OP

No, it's about a reduction in the amount of movements that you are used to, not a certain amount in a certain time.

Stephisaur · 16/09/2018 20:54

I feel 10-15 instances of movement a day.

So, he’ll maybe have a mad 5 minutes, or a half hour wriggle or something but that’s counted as 1 instance. Individual movements would be hundreds per day otherwise!

I would ring anyway. If you’re worried enough to post, then you have the right to be reassured. Please don’t wait until morning. I hope all is ok xx
