I’m having a really hard time at work, with a a manager who really lacks any understanding and continues to pile on the pressure. I have put up with it long before I was pregnant, and truth be known if I wasn’t pregnant I would have left my job before now, but I know I haven’t got that option now and it’s getting harder to deal with. It’s making me feel unwell, I get to a Sunday evening and the anxiety of going in to work the next day is unbearable.

I want to work with my employer to find a way of making it work as I still have 14 weeks until my maternity leave (I’m currently 23 weeks) but I also want to speak to someone about how I’m feeling because I don’t really feel like myself at the moment. Would I be best to speak to my midwife or my GP in this situation?

Thank you x

Hello

So sorry you are feeling this way. I've been there with an unsupportive boss whilst pregnant and it's really hard.

From an employment standpoint, if you work for an organisation can you talk to HR and other bosses about your boss?

If you don't wish to make an employment issue out of it, tell your midwife how you're feeling and ask for advice. She will be able to guage who you should speak to.

My personal advice is try and concentrate on your happy news, i really had to grin and bear my horrible boss though I did start throwing some pregnancy discrimination lingo about to get them to pay attention when i felt i was particularly being treated unfairly!

Feel free to pop back here for a rant... I'm happy to lend an ear x
