Can some please tell me what I’m entitled to claim while pregnant. I was on ESA but have been found fit to work. I have no issue with that . But I’ve just missed out maternity allowance because my contract ended so from the time my baby’s due till the date I’ve not been working it’s a little under 26 weeks. So I’ve looked online and it’s income support for £73.10 a week. But maternity allowance would be £145 how’s that fair? I’ve always worked and paid tax. I would of still been employed if my contract didn’t end. I’ve not found anything else because I was recovering from a miscarriage that made me ill for over 3 months then fell pregnant again. It wasn’t planned but saw it as a blessing after two miscarriages.
What am I entitled too? Surely it’s not 73.10 a week

Georgi I'd use an online calculator such as "entitled to" (google it), as usually what you can claim is dependent on your circumstances and the area where you live. Also, you will get a little more when the baby is here such as child benefit and child tax credit (the later is again, dependent on your circumstances).

Have you looked into maternity allowance?
You would also be entitled to child tax credits and child benefits also so you wouldn’t be on 73.10 a week.

Child benefit is around £20 for the first child, with child tax credits on top.

Also you can't have always worked and paid tax if you were on ESA until declared fit to work right? If you have been paying tax for a certain number of weeks in the past year or so, you would be entitled to mat allowance, so I'd check eligibility online... good luck
