Bloody hell. I'm 20 weeks and DP has been on a stag so haven't seen him for a week. I went to pick him up from the airport and he says omg you're huge infront of all his mates ffs. It's been a week and I'm not huge at all Blush

He hasn't seen you for a week and you are right at the point where you are expanding rapidly. Yes there are more tactful ways to approach it, but maybe having not see you for a week (who has a week long stag do, by the by Hmm), he just said the first thing that came into his mind. It's not exactly crime of the century.

Why aren't his friends keen on you?

greendale17 · 14/09/2018 21:33

Don’t be so precious

Well, you’re pregnant. You’re growing a human. The aim is for you to get bigger. How could this possibly be seen as an insult?

So you use sex as a weapon eh

Nolagerformethanks · 14/09/2018 21:49

Im 23 weeks and my OH told me I was getting a fat arse the other night 😂 just laughed it off! I suspect they just don't think!

BigfluffybearBum · 14/09/2018 21:53

His friends aren't keen because I already have a child and DP doesn't tend to go out drinking as much now he's with me. No I don't use sex as a weapon

Depends on how he said it though.

If he said it in a super happy to see you Wow! way

Or

Not

It's not an unusual thing to say to a pg woman TBF but if he said it in a mean way in front of his friends who don't like you then I can see why you're upset.

If he was pleased to see you and etc then I think it's an over-reaction.

Someone I worked with said I was ginormous. I was stood there in a job maternity size 12 coat. She was wear her size 18 uniform 😐

Mumof1andacat · 14/09/2018 22:16

Non maternity*

myusernameisnotmyusername · 14/09/2018 22:19

He clearly didn't mean anything. He meant your bump has grown.

MrMeSeeks · 14/09/2018 22:21

I really don’t think he was insulting you.

MagicalCreatures · 14/09/2018 22:28

I don’t get why people find this insulting. You are growing a person in there. Your gonna get huge. And when people say it to me, I proudly rub my ‘huge’ bump coz it’s flipping amazing. I want to show it off and I’d feel cheated if I didn’t have a huge bump that I could show the world.
He hadn’t seen you for a week so I expect from when he last saw you, you’ve grown a lot. He did not mean it to purposely insult you or put you down. I bet he said it in an excited way.

BigfluffybearBum · 14/09/2018 22:43

im still not happy with him Wink

I was stood at the top of the stairs the other night, and my partner walked up towards me. As he was walking up he said “my GOD, look at the size of you” Shock

I was 29wks pregnant and clearly I am big but it wasn’t the most tactful thing he could say...but I just found it hilarious. His genuine amazement over my size was funny!

BigfluffybearBum · 14/09/2018 23:16

He's creeping up to me now

LynetteScavo · 15/09/2018 08:38

I think he meant it partly as a complement, partly showing off that he's impregnated you.

Anyway, he seems genuinely pleased to see you.

BigfluffybearBum · 15/09/2018 11:34

I'm out of my hormonal mood and were talking now. I have done this all before but it was 13 years ago
