Slow leaking waters?

Morning, I've just been to see the consultant and need to go back this afternoon to have what he thinks might be a slow leaking of my waters checked. I'm 29+5 and had DS1 at 33+5.

I'm trying to get hold of DH who must be in a meeting, and I've got to pick DS up from day 3 of reception, then go back. And I'm not sure what to expect, has anyone had this investigated before with a good outcome?

Handholds welcome. Everything was going so well, and now I'm in a panic.

Im so sorry you're going through this op.
My ds was born at 29 and 5 and is now a happy, perfectly healthy 18 month old.
I was sure I had slow-leaking waters and called my midwife multiple times before they suddenly went at 29 and 4. She never believed there was anything wrong so never asked me to come in. Its really good that they are monitoring you.

I'm not a doctor but from what I understand because of your history you will likely be put on bedrest and given antibiotics just incase; likely magnesium and sterroids too. You will be very closely monitored and can even reach term if you are leaking. They thought that, even though almost all my waters had gone, I would likely still not go into labour and many women don't.

Sending LOTS of hand holds and positive vibes. Remember, if the unlikely happens and you do go into labour, although 29 and 5 sounds super early to us, the NICU have babies in there from 23 weeks so they can cope and know what to do to care for your little one.

I've got my fingers crossed for you xxx

I had a tear in my waters at 30 weeks.they sed I would have to come In every week until I go into labour to have an injection to help prevent infections but a week later any way my waters broke and I had my little boy at 31+5 he was 3lbs 11oz and was breathing on his own fine. He stayed in nicu for 3weeks to put on weight and had to be tube fed for a bit but he was fine and they closely monitor you and baby if it happens so well. My son is now 10 and doing great😁

In my last pregnancy my waters broke at 27+4 and i had my son via emergency c section at 28+3 he was in a very poor condtion when he was born as we both had an infection and it wasn't picked up untill i went in with reduced movement. I had steroids when waters we're confirmed as leaking, he will be 2 next month.

The aim was to get to 34 weeks if possible and then they would deliver and i was going to go in for twice a week mointering.

I'm 29 weeks pregnant and have been very worried about the same happening. You are at a good stage in your pregnancy and almost 30 weeks obviously if your baby is born soon he or she will spend time in NNU.

There is a page on face book called little heartbeats which supports ladies who have pprom. Please let us no how you get on. X
