7 weeks pregnant, never felt so terrible :(

I'm 7 weeks 1 day, for the past fortnight I've felt incredibly run down and drained, a simple 2 mile walk which I used to do daily with no problem now leaves me feeling like I'm going to keel over! I have a young DD to care for and feel barely able to function most of the day.

I've noticed a pea size lump under my left armpit which I presume is a swollen gland?

I feel nauseous daily but am yet to actually throw up.

Is this all "the norm" in some pregnancies or does it sound like I need to see my GP?

That was the norm for me in both pregnancies at 6/7 weeks. Utter exhaustion and nausea. No appetite, ramping up to a lot of vomiting, then hospitalisation with Hyperemisis. The hyperemisis is pretty unusual (estimates are 1-5% of pregnant women are affected), but the fatigue and nausea is fairly normal in the first trimester.

If you have swollen glands though, it might be worth seeing a GP.

I had hypermesis with DD the entire pregnancy and it was terrible, I just don't remember feeling so exhausted this early on! I did wonder whether this was the onset of hypermesis..

Im going to call the GP surgery tomorrow for a check up. I'm prone to swollen glands and have had them in several places over the years, never anything serious, but being pregnant does make me more prone to worry.

It would help if the doctors could tell me whether I have a virus or something, or are just suffering from pregnancy lol

I'd go and see your GP as a precaution but sadly I think it does sound normal! I remember with DS I loved being pregnant as it was so uncomplicated. Currently pregnant with my DD and can definitely say it has been the opposite.

I really struggled in the first trimester. Sickness, very low blood pressure and vertigo, fainting, backache, breathlessness. If DD had been my first pregnancy she may well have been my last too Grin

Good luck, hoping it gets better for you!

Pregnancy is such a blessing and I wouldn't change it for the world but christ what I'd give to just feel "normal" again for 24 hours so I can get on top of things

Thank you for replying!
