Anyone just got a BFP and feeling anxious?

Got a positive pregnancy test yesterday Smile

Was over the moon yesterday. But now the anxiety is hitting. Every time I go to the toilet checking for blood, obsessively checking checking my symptoms, running through possible things that could go wrong.

I've got a 2.5 yo DD and had a missed miscarriage earlier this year. I was anxious the whole pregnancy with my DD. Thankfully I was less anxious with the one I lost, but because of how that pregnancy ended, the anxiety is back this time.

Is anyone else feeling the same or have any pregnancy anxiety coping tips??

Oh no. Extra stress you don't need having to go again. I hope your call with the Dr will help explain why. If she couldn't see them on the system they could of mixed up the results - happened to me before for when having other tests.

I haven't had 48hr bloods done before, and don't know anyone who has so I don't really know what's normal for them to do.

Hope you're OK x

Thank you @GirlCroosh

I just had a bit of a cry on dh who doesn't seem to be worried Grin

It does seem strange that she said she couldn't see any at all just retest as they were so quick to give me the first lot over the phone.

Hopefully that's all it is. X

Has anyone's sickness kicked in yet? I've felt awful of a morning the last few days. Got my scan next Friday, I'll be 7+1 so hoping I will see a heartbeat 🙏🏼

GirlCroosh · 17/09/2018 12:03

No sickness yet. But I think I'm only 4 / 5 weeks.

I think I'm noticing the start of it. Getting a weird taste in my mouth every now and then. Urgh. I'm dreading it.

It's like lose lose. If you feel ok - you're worried somethings wrong, if you feel horrible and ill - you feel horrible and ill!

I had a busy weekend which was good for distraction.

Hope you're all doing ok xxx

No sickness for me as of yet but still only 4+4, final blood tests drawn today and the nurse asked how I'm feeling and it will likely come soon.

Feeling great atm but as you say still worrying that perhaps I shouldn't be. I always find something to worry about so just trying to enjoy this stage x

Eleosto · 17/09/2018 13:30

@sprinkleofsunshine I had bloods done but had them four days apart. They have gone up as they should so that was very reassuring. It has also got rid of the need to constantly take pregnancy tests which were causing more anxiety. How did your bloods go?

I have a scan at 7 weeks and will also do the harmony test.

I also agree with the other poster who said there isn’t enough support for people in early pregnancy. I am only able to get a GP appointment after three weeks!!!

Lorrie3 · 17/09/2018 15:29

Hi Ladies,

After a number of negative tests I had my first BFP..very strong yesterday and again this morning.
Just had it confirmed by the GP today and shocked to find out Im 8 weeks. I think we are happy but we werent trying, if you understand. But the shock is something else!

buntingandstarcharts · 17/09/2018 17:59

Ladies, I'm just so happy to have found this thread!i tested on Friday (10dpo) and I got a strong bfp! I couldn't believe it. My period was due today - I'm anxiously checking every 5 minutes. We were trying for nearly a year and so this feels extremely surreal and I'm so shocked. I'm being so careful not to get too excited just in case it goes wrong. At what point did you miscarry previously ladies? Will you early scans? Does anyone have any symptoms yet? Sorry for hundreds of questions, this is my first baby xxx

buntingandstarcharts · 17/09/2018 18:02

(Sorry just seen that you've already posted about early scans) do I need to see the doc for the blood tests?

sprinkleofsunshine · 17/09/2018 19:50

@Eleosto I had them last Monday at 3+4 and they were 178, Wednesday they were 420 and now just waiting on today's, seems to be positive form before so fx all good. Tests still getting darker and had my first bout of nausea today though not sure it's actually connected as I just feel so normal? Lol.

Congratulations to all the new bfp's Grin

GirlCroosh · 18/09/2018 09:41

Congratulations on the BFPs!

I was the same with my DD @lorrie3 a very well timed surprise. I found it tough to get my head around, even though I was happy about it.

That's what I'm doing @Bunting trying not to get too excited or worried. Right now, I'm pregnant.

That's good about your results @sprinkle Smile

The early pregnancy support is basically non existent. I can't get a gp appointment, the receptionist advised to call every morning for an emergency appointment until I got one! Not going to take an appointment from someone who needs it, so I've self referred to the midwives at my nearest maternity unit.

Hi, I'm pleased to have found this thread as I am so anxious. I had a missed miscarriage in June this year but am now six weeks pregnant again. However I am going crazy every day, I have a terrible cold at the moment and feel dreadful. I'm worried that's not good for the baby then I think my boobs don't feel sore anymore and the nausea went but seems to be coming back a bit but I think that's more because of my
Cold and headache etc. I know there is no point doing pregnancy tests as last time I got positives all the time and had all the symptoms but then found out at the scan that the foetus never actually developed. It was devastating and I had to have surgery to remove everything. I keep trying to convince myself it'll be fine this time and we're fortunate to have a gorgeous 2yr old boy that is our world but we really want this baby as well.
Wishing you all the best, here's to many healthy babies xx

buntingandstarcharts · 19/09/2018 18:34

@Tryingtochillax I can't imagine how stressful it must be for you at the moment! I've had no miscarriage and am an absolute wreck but I know of people who have had missed miscarriages and it has caused such devastation - which I can only imagine. I thought getting pregnant was the hard bit🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼

buntingandstarcharts · 19/09/2018 18:34

@Tryingtochillax when is your due date? X

sprinkleofsunshine · 19/09/2018 19:47

Good luck to you @Tryingtochillax hope all is well with this one which I'm sure it is Smile

Had my final bloods back today, the hcg has shot up to 3810 so feeling pleased with that.

GirlCroosh · 19/09/2018 20:23

Weirdly I think that my miscarriage has made me less worried this time... I thought I would be WAAAAAAY worse this time because of it. But I think actually knowing how miscarriage works has taken some of the fear of the unknown away for me.

But I'm only 5ish weeks so plenty of time to stress out still Confused

sprinkleofsunshine · 19/09/2018 20:34

@GirlCroosh that's so good! Did you ready up lots to make you feel better? In a bit anxious because of my early losses before but I have a definite positive feeling this time like it will end good so fx.

Tryingtochillax · 19/09/2018 20:42

@buntingandstarcharts thank you! Yes I am finding it really difficult, i have a private scan booked for a week on Saturday but the time seems to be passing so slowly!! I'll be 7+3 on the day of the scan. Yesterday and today I have also started having cramps a few times a day that last about 5mins, obviously I think the worst but funnily enough I had the same with my son when I was 6 weeks as well so maybe it's a good sign. Bad lower back today though as well so not sure if all of that indicates a looming miscarriage. Aaaaaagggggghhhh I just hate this time. I really hope we both get through these 12 weeks and manage to stay sane 🤦🏽‍♀️ xx

Tryingtochillax · 19/09/2018 20:45

@buntingandstarcharts as for my due date, I'm not sure. I know it's May but I've forgotten the exact date that I calculated and I can't bring myself to do it again. I haven't even registered with the midwife yet which I'm supposed to have, I am meant to go to a group meeting between 6-8weeks and then they take all the details of what hospital you want, and get your stuff send off to book you for the 12 week scan. I just don't want to do it until after my reassurance scan as I don't want to go all through it again in case of bad news. Xx

Tryingtochillax · 19/09/2018 20:46

@sprinkleofsunshine thank you and huge congratulations on your bloods. That sounds like really positive news. Did you have to pay for that privately? X

sprinkleofsunshine · 19/09/2018 20:49

Thank you @Tryingtochillax no it was through the doctors. They asked me to have them as I found out pretty early and with two early previous losses they just wanted to check I think. They seem to be happy enough with those figures so will be popping in tomorrow to fill out the forms to go to the midwife.

What has your bad back been like? I had one just before af was due and was worrying but thankfully ok, heard it can be quite a common early symptom? So fx that's all it is Smile

Tryingtochillax · 19/09/2018 20:54

@sprinkleofsunshine really sorry leased they did bloods for you. Everything sounds positive for you this time.

It's just a constant ache across the whole of my lower back. I am hoping like you say it'll be ok as I just had a google and lots of people are saying the same who went onto have successful pregnancies. Xx

sprinkleofsunshine · 19/09/2018 21:00

Yeah fx for you, sure that's all it is. I'm stressing about every little niggle to be honest but think it's quite normal especially after losses and this is my first so nothing really to compare it to.

Really hope so, I have a good feeling about this one and certainly seems a sticky one so far.

sprinkleofsunshine · 19/09/2018 21:01

@Tryingtochillax

GirlCroosh · 19/09/2018 21:42

@tryingtochillax I get lower back pain as a regular pregnancy symptom, it's the first one to appear for me. Hope that the same for you. So glad your bloods are good @sprinkle that must be a relief. I'm having a good day today, but I did freak out last night when I got a random stabbing pain that didn't turn into anything. So I guess I'm not as chilled as I think I am.
