"older" mum to be

Hi I'm new to mumsnet and was just wondering if there are any other "older" mums out there? I'm pregnant with my first at age 38 and have suddenly developed a strange anxiety that I'm going to be the oldest mum in the playground!! I know its ridiculous but has anyone else felt the same way? (p.s I'm 13 weeks)

I'll be 36 when I have my first :)

I was 40 when my DS was born. I worry about this all the time now and I’m convinced everyone thinks I’m his Gran! I dye my hair and my grey roots are always poking through which makes my insecurities even worse. I need to get a grip and be more like the rest of you.

38 here expecting my first (though I don't feel a day over 31 haha! Well maybe a bit 😉) Sounds like you are in good company op, don't give it another thought 😁

You don’t walk around with your birth certificate. Nobody knows how old you are. I’m 40 but there are younger mums who’ve had a hard paper round and look significantly older.

Well said BigBlue Bubble and I love that expression - had a tough paper round- only heard it in Wales!
