Sorry if this is far much tmi but Im not sure what to do lol

So i think (infact i know) ive got thread worm. Im not panicing cause ive had it on off for years.
Im a VERY clean person, hands always washed, sheets changed all the time etc etc
Its off when I eat too much sugar(like actual sugar) its not like im eating it by the spoonful, but since becoming pregnant ive started to eat breakfast which involves sugar on my weetabix and where id normally have sweetners in my tea ive gone off it and switched to coffee which i put 2 sugars in.

Id honestly just ride it out normally but unsure how it reacts with me being pregnant, please dont be harsh or w.e. just lookint for advise as I know you cant take an awful lot of medication that might help as im pregnant.

Thanks

Xx

Gp. Urgently. I know nothing about threadworms. This doesn't seem like you need internet stranger advice - proper medical advice.

Toofle · 09/09/2018 20:46

Threadworms don't suddenly appear as a result of eating a particular food. Definitely get yourself to the GP, preferably with a stool sample.

WinkysTeatowel · 09/09/2018 20:58

You shouldn't get threadworms 'on and off' if you have treated them. You need to speak to your GP .

peppapigkeepsthemquiet · 09/09/2018 21:09

How do you actually know you have them?
It’s unusual to have them on and off for years if you are treating them correctly.

NHS website says a pharmacist can threat you with a simple chewable tablet (or something similar) and everyone in your household should be treated aswell. If you are pregnant then mention it first but you will probably be told to see a GP.
They are not usually dangerous and very easy to treat.
Your probably getting them on and off due to contamination. It says that eggs can be picked up very easily from any type of surfaces. Especially if your a nail biter or have children already. Children pick them up very easily and that’s how households tend to become infected x

I don't think you can take the tablets if pregnant - please check with your GP first.
