If you google Maternity hospital bag you’ll get loads of results with helpful checklists.

Be careful with ones from babycare shops- sometimes they add things which are slightly unescessary, but of course they sell!

Bring slippers and at least two pairs or maternity leggings for afterwards

I took loads that I didn't need for DC1 (EMCS) so went back to basics for DC2 (ELCS), we had a 4 day/3 night stay.

For me:
Camera, phone, charger.

3x pj bottoms, 3x vest tops, 2x nursing bras, 2x leggings, 2x tshirts, 1x cardigan, 10x big pants, 4x socks, comfy trainers.

Brush, baby wipes (for me), 24x night pads, 10x breast pads (pairs), sensitive shower gel, 1x baby sponge, toothbrush, toothpaste.

Pregnancy/feeding pillow, water bottle, cereal bars, boiled sweets.

For DC:
6x babygrows with built in mitts, 6 vests, 1x cardigan, 1x hat.

Travel change mat, 28x newborn nappies, cotton wool pads, small bowl (to dip pads in lukewarm water), 6x muslin, 1x blanket.

1x car seat.

DC1 was formula fed but hospital provided for us then, if not I would've taken a box of those small premade bottles in.

I just realised that sounds lots but it honestly wasn't, basically an outfit to wear in and home plus PJ's and clean babygrow and cardigan for baby to come home.

My list for dc2 (so whittled out the stuff I didnt need)

Me.
Nightie. Pj vest top. Pj bottoms.
2 packs maternity pads. Handfull of breastpads.
Bra.
Pair fleecy socks.
Five pairs giant black cotton knickers.
Leggings and tunic to wear home.
Cardigan.
Bobbles, clip, hairbrush, mini shampoo and showel gel. Deodorant. Toothbrush and paste.
Phone and charger. Headphones. Earplugs.
Pen and notebook.
Cereal bars. Bottled water (frozen).

Baby.
Pack of newborn nappies. Pack of wipes.box of nappy sacks.
Four small muslins. One large one for swaddling.
Cardigan and hat.
Two sleepsuits in Newborn. Two in 0-1 month. Same for bodysuits.
One thin microfleece all in one for hometime (winter).
A tiny teddy.
A dummy.
A pack of those glass sma pre made baby bottles (tried and failed to BF).

I took a giant tshirt to birth in but just ended up whipping trousers off as it was quick.

Packed everything into one cabin sized suitcase with a handfull of carrier bags to dump dirty clothes in to be taken home.

Snacks. Lots of snacks Grin

Lots of good suggestions above.
Take roll-on deodorant as some hospitals don't allow you to use aerosols.
Take a small jug to help with using the toilet after the birth (pouring water over yourself is much more comfortable than wiping!)
Take LOTS of snacks, you might not want them in labour but afterwards you may be absolutely ravenous.
