Morn sickness and gender

I’m preg with my second and last child. I’ve miscarried before so a child of any gender would be a blessing. However, I have to admit I would like a girl, would be the icing on the cake after a boy. But another boy would be good company for my current baby to play (fight) with.

I don’t have morning sickness and didn’t with last pregnancy 🤰🏼 does this mean it’s unlikely to be a girl? Anyone else had no morning sickness and ended up with a girl?

I had morning sickness with both DD and DS.

stellabird · 08/09/2018 12:35

I had it with both. It isn't connected to gender at all.

elliejjtiny · 08/09/2018 12:37

I have boys and had severe morning sickness with all of them. I don't think it's linked to sex of the baby. I've heard it's worse with multiple babies and it's worse if you are prone to travel sickness

DragonScales · 08/09/2018 12:39

I had horrendous morning sickness with both dd and ds.

TwistedStitch · 08/09/2018 12:40

I have one of each sex and had severe hyperemesis with both of them.

Oh dear- poor all of you. I heard that oestrogen is higher with girls and that can cause morn sickness. Thought it may be bullshit. Guess I’m just lucky I don’t get it- never get sea sickness or travel sickness- my stomachs probably made of iron!

Mine morning sickness started at exactly the same time - 7+1 with both DS and DD. I was convinced I was having another boy! The only difference was it lasted until 14 weeks with DS and 16 weeks with DD x

Nutkins24 · 08/09/2018 13:10

I’ve had exactly the same level of sickness (a lot) with both my girl and boy. I don’t think it’s related at all.

Emmafh3 · 08/09/2018 21:59

No morning sickness with my dd, just a little queezy with this pregnancy although not finding out again so can't vouch for this one.
All the old wives tales are bs

PAlm5 · 08/09/2018 22:01

There is evidence to show that you are slightly more likely to have it with a girl but I think it's something like 52% of women with morning sickness have girls, so pretty insignificant difference.

SoyDora · 08/09/2018 22:02

I’ve got two girls, had bad nausea with both, but minimal sickness. Now pregnant with a boy and was extremely sick up until 20 weeks.

thismeansnothing · 08/09/2018 22:04

Had zero morning sickness with DD

This time I've had it baaaad but don't have 20 week scan till end of the month

BikeRunSki · 08/09/2018 22:11

I had 2 almost identical HG pregnancies, and have a son and a daughter.

bellinisurge · 08/09/2018 22:15

Kate Middleton had hyperemesis with all 3.

TittyGolightly · 08/09/2018 22:20

It isn't connected to gender at all.

This. Because babies don’t have gender.

jaychops · 08/09/2018 22:51

Different in my case. Horrendous sickness til 18 weeks with my daughter, now 28 weeks with my son and had zero sickness. Completely opposite pregnancies!

mummyto1girl · 08/09/2018 22:54

I had very bad morning sickness and I had a beautiful little girl it was all worth it!

Minimonkeysmum · 08/09/2018 23:05

I had horrendous morning sickness with my first - a girl. And even worse sickness (but the same pattern, evenings were worse) with my second - a boy. So if it is linked, it wasn't for me!

Dinosauratemydaffodils · 08/09/2018 23:10

Week 4 til week 18 or so of constant nausea every time I moved from horizontal with both ds and dd.

My dm had zero morning sickness with me.

LBNM19 · 08/09/2018 23:32

I had terrible sickness and pregnant with my 4th boy.

coffeekittens · 09/09/2018 07:30

I had little sickness and some mild nausea with DD 6 years ago, I’m 17 weeks pregnant and have hyperemesis gravidarum and found out yesterday that I’m having another girl, so not linked for me.

UntilTheVeryEnd · 09/09/2018 08:47

you could always try this old wives take out for fun...you mix a spoon of baking powder in with your urine...if it does nothing means it’s a girl if it fizzes up it’s a boy.
Probs a heap of pig swill but a fun experiment none the less 🤷‍♀️

ImNotBusyImLazy · 09/09/2018 09:19

There is no correlation. I had absolutely no sickness (or symptoms at all!) with my first pregnancy. Had about 6 weeks of sickness with my second. Both girls.

Bubblemumma1 · 09/09/2018 09:20

I had morning sickness with both my son and daughter.
