I'm after one with an isofix base. I had decided on the maxi cosi pebble plus until I realised the isofix base had to be bought separately making it £400!

Ideas please

@Littlebees Hiya, my partner and I bought the Joie spin 360 combination isofix car seat. Comes with the base and everything cost £250 its so lush. Its from birth until 4 years old. Its a really attractive car seat we love it. Cant wait once littleman has arrived to put him in it! 5 weeks to go!

Maxi Cosi Cabriofix with the base. We bought the seat new but bought a used base so saved that way.

Daffodil77 · 06/09/2018 21:10

Mothercare have 15% off car seats at the moment. Pretty sure I saw the maxi cosi base and seat for £300 on the Glasgow pram centre website as well I that helps.

We like the look of that one too but the hood isn't as good as on the cybex ones. Trying to work out how much it'll bother me in reality.

We bought the BeSafe iZiGo. It came as a bundle with the BabyZen YoYo buggy. We'll move to the next seat in a few months time but it fits the same isofix base so we don't have to buy a new one. We're really happy with it and feel DS is safe and sound 😊

We're getting a maxi cosi cabriofix. Bases seem reasonable for that. Then we have the Britax multitech 2 from dc1 that is extended rear facing then a high back booster

Thanks everyone for all your comments.

I'm now undecided between the maxi cosi & isofix base or the joie 360. The joie is cheaper and I think it might be handy to have the swivel option to put baby in but on the other hand the maxi cosi looks like it's easy to just take out if I'm nipping to someone's house with baby?!

Decisions!

I can see the dilemma! We got the spin one when DD outgrew the cabriofix, it really is fab and I'd recommend to everyone!

But would still advise a travel system car seat for the newborn phase if your main mode of transport is a car. It is so easy to pop the seat on and off the pram base to nip round shops, and take in and out of peoples homes, all without disturbing the tiny sleeping baby.

The main advantage to the spin one is it saves your back when lifting in/out, and strapping in. But a newborn is very light, and is usually strapped in while you're still in the house. You wouldn't tend to carry the small baby out to the car and THEN strap it all up, IYSWIM? For me the spin one is an absolute lifesaver when the child is a bit bigger and heavier!

I think we have decided to go for the maxi cosi because it can just be unclipped to carry him out the car. Seems the best option. Phew glad that's decided, now just to find somewhere with the best offer on :)

@Daffodil77 Thank you - I've ordered from the Glasgow pram centre. Over the moon to have saved £100!!!

@littlebees glad to have helped! It was a mumsnetter local to Glasgow that recommended the store as that's where it's based.

We got the Pebble plus and 2-way fix base. Went for that one because the base is compatible with the 2-way Pearl for extended rear facing. I also had a 3 door car when we had baby, so isofix base was quite important for ease of use. If I had my time again (and a different car!) I might have just got the basic maxi-cosi infant car seat and belted it in (it's really easy!) and then got a different ERF car seat (the Britax Two Way Elite is meant to be brilliant) once baby outgrew the infant carrier.

TheGateauIsInTheChateau · 07/09/2018 12:08

I bought a maxi cosi pebble with base

AND

In the Mothercare sale I got a car seat for £20, the base £80. When I removed the packaging turns out it’s made by Cybex.... so I recommend looking at Mothercare xx

John lewis currently has deals on lots of car seats. We were toying between the pebble plus and the besafe izi go but they're currently offering £100 off the besafe when you buy the seat and base together so will be buying that today. The same base can be used for the next stage up seat as well although they are a little pricier than some of the others. Maxi cosi pebble plus is 15% off too on the seat but not the base.

Belkinsboo · 08/09/2018 00:30

Apologies for hijacking slightly but is anyone able to let me know the difference between the Maxi Cosi Rock and the Maxi Cosi Pebble Plus please? I keep reading about them both and everywhere says the Pebble Plus is better but not for any specific reason? Both just as safe, comfy, easy to use etc. Thank you!

Markygirl1995 · 08/09/2018 16:09

We went for joie which is isofix

twobambinos · 08/09/2018 22:26

@belkinsboo had the same question myself couldnt figure it out. Went with the pebble plus in the end.
Was it maybe to do with the memory buttons?
