Do I tell them at this point or hang on. I'm a high risk as I'm 44 so have loads of appointments coming up. I haven't told anyone other than my partner yet, do I want my boss to be the first to know but appraisal is tomorrow. Help and advice welcome.

You have no obligation to tell your employer until 15 weeks before your due. I wouldnt want to tell until 12/13 weeks at least. But will it make it difficult for your antenatal appointments or can you get out easily just saying its doctor's appointment?

Surely you could avoid making it part of the appraisal? So have the meeting purely based on how you are getting on, then tell them later. If you do need to let them know due to all the upcoming appts, you could tell them next week and say you were waiting to get to 8wks before mentioning as is so early but want to be up front as early as possible. But as Angel said if you can get around appts without telling then leave as late as you can. I have just told my boss today at 7+6 as have a lot of travel coming up that I may not manage, otherwise would have left a bit longer.

Thanks. I think I'll leave it a little later and carry on as normal for now with a number of 'doctors' appointments!

If you want to tell them that you're pregnant then do (can make the docs appointments easier to explain) but definitely don't do it as part of the appraisal. Legally your employers are not allowed to use information such as this as part of evaluating your performance so don't conflate the two issues. If you want to tell them about the pregnancy then I'd leave it until next week and just send an email to your line manager separately.
