Just wanted some opinions on whether people think I should get checked out or whether I'm ok (I feel totally ok!) I'm 37 weeks.
At about 2.30am I got up to go to the toilet (had needed to go for quite a while but didn't want to get up). As I stood up I felt very wet - not a huge amount, my pants caught it all - so I ran to the toilet and went for a wee. NHS website suggested to put a pad in and lay down for a while to see if anything else occurred. It didn't. I have no idea if it was waters OR if I just wet myself a bit.

As the night went on, I did have some dull aching in lower back and under my bump BUT I have had this on and off at night in last few weeks and think it's linked to hip pain. Now I am up and about this has gone completely. TMI I did have a large iron tablet linked bowel movement around 6am Blush At around 7am I did have a sharp pain in stomach and stomach was generally quite grumbly. The pain felt like it could just be trapped wind or other digestive issues and eased off when I got up and walked around. Nothing similar since.
I feel like some of my 'aches' were a bit psychological - me thinking they were worse than they really were. I am having a C-Section at 39+2 due to tokophobia so the thought that I might be going into labour early was a bit terrifying at 2am and think I got stuck into wondering at every little thing!
What do people think? I feel absolutely fine (just shattered from lack of sleep!) It have however finally finished packing my hospital bag and writing my birth plan!

Call your midwife. Triage will tell you to do the same. Good luck.

Oh I should have also mentioned that baby movements are all fine and in their usual pattern.

Hello

My experience of waters breaking is that more continued to come out after that initial gushy wetness. However thats only my experience. If you have any suspicion yours was amniotic fluid and not urine I'd ring the midwives.

Thing is, we can give you our advice but it's never worth not getting your worries checked out because of the what ifs... what if it was amniotiv fluid and the baby is at risk of infection if you don't do anything for a while.

Brilliant you're ready with hospital bag etc. I'd say for peace of mind have a check up. Best wishes for everything...almost there! X

Thanks guys. Will call my midwife now and see what they advise. I’ve luckily had a very easy pregnancy and so have been generally calm. The fact that I’m feeling ok right now could be giving me a false sense of security - it’s always best to get checked out.

It does sound as if everything is ok but you just never want to risk it when you don't need to. Most the aches and pains you described just sound like the joys of late pregnancy. Hope it all goes well for you, do update! X

Spoke to triage. They told me to put a pad in, monitor anymore leaks and call them back in 2 hours. I’ll update if anything exciting happens!

Aww that gives you a peace of mind that they aren't worried! Like I said after my initial water sort of gushed out, i continued to get water on the pad for hours afterwards - there's quite a lot to come out Blush hope you make it to your booked cs!

I had similar about 38 weeks and thought this is it! It's time!! Think it was just a bit of mucus plus and a bit of discharge. Nothing else happened until 41 weeks!
