Random hospital appointment letter - confused

So I'm 15 weeks tomorrow with my first pregnancy. I have had my first midwife appointment and scan and already booked in for my next ones. Today I received a letter from the maternity department at my local hospital informing me of an appointment at the obstetrics clinic. I have no idea what this appointment is for and it doesn't seem to be a standard thing according to the internet and my blue book appointment notes. The midwife did mention that I would have to have an appointment with the the anaesthetist at some point because I'm allergic to penicillin and a few other things. Could this be it?

I'm not sure regarding allergies but do you have any medical conditions or a raised BMI? I've actually got my appointment at obstetrics tomorrow and also wasn't expecting it when I got the letter not long after my 12 week scan. Asked my midwife and it's due to having a BMI of 36, standard in my NHS trust to refer for anything over 35.

If you have allergies you will likely be under consultant care. I’m surprised she didn’t tell you she was referring you. I have allergies and therefore under consultant care. I also had to see an anesthetist regarding pain management options - in case normal things weren’t suitable.
Don’t worry - it’s actually good having the extra care as I felt baby was well looked after in case of an issue.

My bmi is fine and I have no other health problems. My other allergies wouldn't be relevant I don't think, just mild skin allergies that trigger my eczema. I did say in my booking in notes that I have had anxiety in the past so maybe that's it. I actually want as little intervention as possible with my pregnancy so hopefully they will decide I don't need consultant led care. The hospital ward that I would prefer to be on is for midwife led patients only.

I had one around this time as I am on medication for anxiety. I had a chat with the consultant and she wrote me a letter saying she felt the pregnancy did not need to be consultant led. She also done a quick scan as we were in a room with the equipment so that was nice.
