Fetus not developing at 6 weeks

Hi, I had my first scan today, it was early at about 6 weeks as I’ve had back pain and stomach cramps and been worried.
I was told the Fetus isn’t developing properly and advising that I have a termination (I had a miscarriage a few years ago and it was a very traumatic one) and because of that it’s maybe best for me to have the termination.
Has anyone else ever had this experience before?

I’ve had a late miscarriage and had to give birth to the baby. do they really know that for sure? I mean at 6 weeks the baby is so tiny on the sonogram but terminations are also very stressful and you might have the ‘what if’ question. Sorry I don’t think I’m being very helpful but I think if I was in ur position I would Wait, just in case. I’m hoping for the best for you, have you got suppprt? X

Was this a private scan or via hospital?

At my 6 week scan there was only a sac!! I would get a second opinion!

I would wait or seek a second opinion. Like above has said its very very very early on. There was an article in the newspaper recently about a private scan clinic that had told a couple to abort at 6 weeks because it wasn't developing, luckily they got a second opinion and actually the fetus was fine and they went onto have a healthy child definitely get rescanned in 2 or 3 weeks

I would wait at least a week and have another scan, a lot should change in a week and you will know if the pregnancy is viable or not. Hoping for a positive outcome for you.

I think the protocol (in the UK anyway) is to wait a week and rescan to confirm. Are they monitoring your HCG levels?

I've been through something similar, you should have a re-scan in a week to two weeks time, then they will decide if they are still unsure hey repeat the scan again in a week to two weeks.

Once there has been no growth in 4 weeks or loss of a heartbeat they will then advice on how to pass the products of conception.

Hopefully it's just a slow starter for you, but I wouldn't jump to a termination just yet!
