A quick question about nappies...

This is probably a silly question, but FTM here and DP wants to start adding bits to our Tesco orders.

Lots of people seem to like the Tesco nappies for fit, so I thought we'd give those a go to start with. But how many do we need? Size 1 and 2, in particular, are pretty close in weight bands: 4-11lb for size 1 and 6-13lb for size 2. Anyone know what's up with this? Do people tend to use size 1 for a couple of weeks (if at all depending on baby body shape - is this a thing???), and then size 2 for maybe a month or so (or is it more like 6 months?)?

We don't have a big supermarket anywhere nearby, so although we can go to smaller ones as and when, it's much better value for us to add a few massive economy packs to our deliveries over the next few months.

Sorry for the probably daft question, but I know very little about babies, and even less about how fast they grow, nappies, and that kind of information. Any thoughts would be much appreciated.

Oh thanks for the information on the Lidl nappies - we may well give those a go then after Tesco, since it's right next to DP's work!
