Has anyone been signed to reduced hours by doctor?

I'm only 20 weeks pregnant but had a lot of issues so far :(
I had a lot of bleeding which thankfully had stopped now but I have a lot of aches & pains and I'm getting absolutely exhausted every day.

My midwife suggested my GP sign me to reduced hours at work which at first I just dismissed instantly as I'm an office worker 9-5 mon-fri. But now I'm wondering if it's worth considering.

Has anyone else done this?

I know people that have worked in an office whilst pregnant but I've never heard of there hours being reduced due to aches and pains...

I really didn't have the best start to my pregnancy and I wish my job was on office job, I work in a very fast pace environment which involves climbing stairs all day everyday and lifting heavy items all day... you'll know what your body is capable off, speak to your managers about what you are able to do and what you are unable to do. Ask for more short breaks to perhaps get you a walk about the office just for a few minutes if you find sitting for too long uncomfortable.

Would you still get paid your usual hours?

I've just in the process of doing exactly this. I'm 12 weeks and have a longish commute to work so when my maternity rep did my risk assessment she told me to get a fit note to have my travel time included in my working day, I explained that I was struggling having to come in for 5 x 8 hour days when I'd previously done 4 x 10 hours but felt that 10 hours plus travelling was to much so she told me to get a fit note for travel time in working day and working week of no more than 4 days. GP is in the process of writing this note and then I'll hopefully be doing 4 x 10 hours but with my travel time inc so I'll only actually be working 4 x 8 hours. I'm efficient and often end up twiddling my thumbs as I complete my work load in a timely fashion so the reduced hours won't effect my output and after giving 15 years to an organisation that has no perks or bonuses or even a paid Christmas do I think bugger it I'm doing what's right for me and my baby for what is a relatively short period of my working life.
