Hi ladies :)

I was wondering if yous had any advice on sleeping positions,

I've always lay on my side and never was able to sleep on my back but since I got pregnant I always find myself waking up on my back, I've been told time and time again that sleeping on my left side is more beneficial for me and baby but I'm just not comfy for very long... I've tried sleeping with a pillow between my legs and putting a pillow under my bump but jeez I can't sleep and I find the pillows are making me too warm 😕

Any advice is appreciated girls x

Ha, I’m exactly the same. Never slept on my back before I was pregnant!

I read that it’s ok if you turn onto your back, as long as you go back onto your side afterwards once you realise. DH is under instruction to just roll me over if he notices 😂

I do find that a pillow behind me helps a bit because it’s quite uncomfortable when I roll onto it!

I do sleep on my left every and all night, but only because I used to sleep on my right and my OH made me switch sides because he found out about the left side thing Grin I don't tell him but when he leaves for work the first thing I do is roll over onto my right lol!

I personally think you should sleep however you are comfortable. A long comfy nights sleep will reduce stress, make you deal with any pregnancy side affects better and generally make you happier.

So do what feels natural to you! Don't pressure yourself. Remember, all this research and "studies" are very new and our ancestors all managed fine without the constant flow of "advice".

NHS guidance is that either side is fine - personally I’m much more comfortable on my right side (like PP I used to sleep on my back before pregnancy).

As you get bigger you’ll probably find that sleeping on your back becomes less comfortable anyway due to weight - probably from 25 weeks onwards if I lay on my back I felt like someone had put a few Yellow Pages or phone books on my belly (despite not having a particularly large bump).

Now at 32 weeks I sometimes roll on to my back just to briefly stretch out, then roll back to my right or do a stint sleeping on my left.

@Stephisaur I've tried the sleeping with a pillow at my back but I just keep getting to warm at night...

Also I've always slept naked (TMI) sorry 😐 but I've found that because of my leaking boobs my partner hates when he gets wet too 😐 so I've had to sleep wearing baggy tops, I've tried sleeping with a fan but obviously that costs a lot of money to have that on all night every night 🙃

Any advice on how to stay cool or calm the leaking boobs 😳
