Had an appointment on Wednesday to check presentation (36+4) and despite having been head down from 32 weeks, baby had decided to flip breech.

I’ve used the strategies from Spinning Babies and I’m totally convinced that baby is back to being head down. I’m now 37 weeks.

I have an appointment to book a c-section on Wednesday, but is it worth me ringing day care on Monday to ask to have the presentation checked again? I don’t want to waste a consultants time booking in a procedure that might be totally unnecessary.

Baby’s growth is also on the 90th centile, having gone from 50ty centile at the 12 week scan, not that evidence shows that ultrasound is an accurate way of measuring this anyway! I guess that I’m also concerned that the consultant might be keen to push for induction/section due to this.

I'd keep the appointment. You might be wrong or even if you are correct, baby might flip again.

Definitely keep the appointment, there's every chance baby will go from breech to head down a few times between now and then. It's no bother for them even if you get to the day of c-section and baby is head down.

I will say if they offer an ECV do lots of research first before agreeing to it, it's not something I would personally do.

I’ve already declined an ECV. Baby was extended breech, so success rate is 30%. I also just feel like it’s too invasive a procedure to subject an unborn child to.

Is the 90% measurement based on a scan or MW measuring? If it’s the latter, a baby in a breech position will measure bigger so I wouldn’t worry about that. There’s still time
for the baby to move even if they haven’t already so I would state your preference for delivery assuming head down position and say you want c section as a back up only.

90% is from the scan. I read s Cochrane review saying that scans overestimate weight around 70% of the time. I think the margin of error on weight calculated by ultrasound is like +/-1.5lbs or something, so I’m taking it with a pinch of salt.
