Breast clinic during pregnancy

Has any one ever been to the breast clinic whilst pregnant?

I have been referred due to an olive sized lump and tenderness in a specific area of one breast.

Gp thinks its possibly just one of my milk ducts inflamed/blocked.

But still rather worrying as it makes me worry if there is a blockage it will effect my milk supply.

Planned ultrasounds and if neccessary biopsys with in the week. .

I am so impressed with how quick they are being. I am sure they just want to cover themselves. It's reassuring non the less.

Just the worry of scans/etc whilst pregnant. As obviously the baby is my main priority/worry.

Hi. I have attended the breast clinic at around 14 weeks’ pregnant over a lump. It wasn’t my first app there though as I have a family history of breast cancer and have had several lumps that turned out to be cysts in the past. Despite that, the GP had seemed more worried than usual about the lump during pregnancy so I was nervous. In the end, it was a cyst as usual. App was quick and they were all nice. It depends on your age, but they won’t do mammograms on me: they do an ultra sound instead (which is basically the same as a pregnancy scan but on your breast, so no harm to baby).
Good luck - I hope it goes okay. It’s always better to get these things checked out!

I work in the Breast unit and we have loads of pregnant women coming in. 99.99% of the time it’s a cyst or a blocked milk duct.

And that has no future bearing on your ability to breastfeed you may just have a bra which is pressing down on a bit of your Breast
