Hi all,

7 weeks and I'm really struggling with morning sickness. In my case it's 24 hours a day sickness. It doesn't go away and it doesn't feel better at any point of the day. I've had it for 2 weeks but the past 4/5 days i feel as though it's really ramped up.

Managing to keep food down but the last thing I want is water as I feel like it will make me feel more sick.

Everything I smell makes it worse and I pretty much can't do anything right now. Luckily I have a bit of time off work - as I don't think I'll survive like this at work next week. How long does it last? :(

Any advice?

I had it all day until about 20 weeks and after then I still couldn't eat in the morning.
Hopefully it ends quicker for you!

I have it at 33 weeks- along with fainting and heart palpitations but baby is healthy so That’s the main thing! Don’t be afraid to take it easy if you need too! I’d replace water with juice and squash- I still can’t stomach water but can handle squash.

Poor you. I had to carry boiled sweets or extra strong mints with me to head off the worst of it Sad it did get lots better after the first trimester both times.

It honestly depends on the pregnancy. With my DS it was at its peak between 8-12 weeks then pretty much disappeared. This time round it started almost as soon as I got a positive but only lasted til about 10 weeks, but then I had it off and on for the rest of the pregnancy. Although it’s much easier if it’s not every bloody day. Take care of yourself and I hope it gets better soon.

Usually goes by 16 weeks apparently. My midwife said that only 1% of women get it all the way through the pregnancy. (Not much comfort to me because I was one of the 1%, but hopefully you won’t be!)

If you are struggling to work and drink fluids, see your GP and ask about anti-sickness tablets. They were an absolute lifesaver for me.

I’m almost 14 weeks and it has definitely eased off although I feel really sick today!

You have my sympathy OP! A lot of people especially male managers if you ask me don't understand how debilitating morning sickness can be!

All I can really offer is a handhold. Mine has gotten better but I do still wake up nauseous and I'll be sick on occasion. However it is a definite improvement of 24 hour nausea where I can't eat or drink so fingers crossed the same becomes true for you!

Stay hydrated and if you're struggling even with that, talk to your midwife Thanks
