Hi all
Did anyone else find packing their hospital bag a nightmare?
Thought I would use a small case so I don't have to carry it as having c section
Started putting bits in & it's full before I have even put everything they recommend you take in.
I take less on a 2wk holiday
Starting to freak out as I am 37+2 wks & want my hospital bag sorted
Any advice or tips I would love them. First baby so am I over thinking & over packing
Thanks

I thought I overpacked and took stuff out when I was in early stages of labour. However I was in hospital for 4 days and ran out of alot of stuff!

So I would say pack 2 bags. One for baby, one for you. Im sure someone will help you carry them (birth partner or hospital staff). You need a few days worth of clothes for each of you. The rest i won't detail as each person is different but I had my toiletries, makeup, spare pjs and disposable pants, breast pads etc. For baby i had clothes vests nappy stuff, muslin clothes, blankets, hats etc.

I ran out of baby clothes changes. Hope this helps. This isnt exhaustive as you have to imagine youre there for a few days so better to have what you need. Don't forget phone charger!

I packed 3 bags - 1 for baby, 1 for me with stuff I'd need for about 2 days & the 3rd with additional stuff - extra pjs, underwear, clothes, pads, more nappies, wipes etc which I left at home & could be brought in if I needed it. Saved the hassle of trying to explain to DP where the things I wanted were likely to be.

Agree 2 bags- you & baby - you won’t be lifting baby in travel seat or bags so don’t worry about that. Pack everything you are thinking of & make sure you have snack bars, eat plugs & socks. If you have different sizes of babygrows pack both- good luck exciting times

I packed this stuff - PLUS I had a water bottle with a 1 litre capacity and a VERY long straw, it’s called the hydrant. It was the best thing I could have taken to hospital with me.

Just take flip flops rather than and/or slippers.
Snacks are key if you’re going to be in there a while.
I didn’t read my books...
There wasn’t anything I wished I had when I came out tbh, I felt quite prepared.

Very best of luck to you, hope it goes well and you enjoy your baby.

Extra bag for a long stay just in case is genuis.
I only had a short stay (just over 12hours due to paper work taking about 5 hours....)
And had all I needed in one bag,
Couple of changes for babe, in two sizes.
Two comfortable changes for me +warm socks and extra big knickers
Baby nappies, wipes, sanitary mummy stuff.
Toothbrush and paste, snacks snacks snacks.
I wish I bought more snacks that were more like little meals. Ie, cheese and crackers, healthy muffins, breakfast bars with the squishy fruit centres. My mouth was so dry.
Soooo much water in bottles.
That's all I used /wanted.
