Hairy Mary

This is a tad embarrassing but I need some advice on how to keep my 🔽 tidy!

I’m usually quite trim down there, so I'm not accustomed to a full bush! Lol! But as my belly gets bigger I’m struggling to shave anything below my armpits.

I’m not keen on going for a wax or asking DH for help, so I’d be very grateful for some recommendations on how I can get rid of this Hairy Mary myself! 😂

Do u know I was thinking the exact same thing today, I’m almost 30 weeks and am struggling with spd at the mo so even putting shoes on is hard work, I was going to ask hubby to help me with shaving etc but I would also like to know how others handle this as they get bigger. I don’t fancy having wax either. Wud like recommendations too please

WooYa · 26/08/2018 21:07

I sat on the edge of the bath with a mirror in it then just went for it Grin it was not the neatest but it was okay Smile

Stephisaur · 26/08/2018 21:22

I’m investing in a beard comb and scissors and I’ll give myself a trim by feel I think.

I cba with shaving completely (regrowth, ugh) but a trim will make me feel a bit more put together!

I just gave up towards the end 🤦‍♀️

Hubbie s beard trimmer

mineofuselessinformation · 26/08/2018 21:39

Your midwife will not give a shiny shit whether or not you are bald or have a full-blown 70s style bush going on, so it's go with what you feel.
Frankly, by the end of my pregnancies I was lucky to be able to reach to wipe down there, so the state of my pubic hair was the least of my worries.... 😄

Mirror Grin

Hairybloodymary · 26/08/2018 21:53

Just to clarify, this isn't for my midwife not sure why you'd think it was either this is purely for myself.

What about a hair removal cream? You could kind of slap it on and hope it does the job? Actually I'm not sure if you can use it on your fandango? You might just want to ignore me

NameChangeyMcChangerson · 26/08/2018 22:55

This is so embarrassing/personal I have used my throwaway name but... I would recommend not shaving for a while before your due date. I say this because I could reach ok so carried on shaving my pubic hair up until the day before I went into labour - but there was no way I could/would dreamt of going near there with a razor, or any other form of hair removal technique, for a good few weeks afterwards. It was horribly itchy as it grew in, and frankly the last thing my stitched up lady parts needed was an extra irritant. In hindsight I'd have grown it out first so that I didn't have to go through the regrowth stage post labour!

kmreeve · 26/08/2018 22:56

Don't put hair removal cream there.. a friend of mine did that and ended up in a&e with chemical burns on her fango.. ouchy!

Poor thing will take a bashing during labour as is Grin i just get in the bath, sit kinda sideways legs akimbo and feel my way round .. I'm sure it's patchy as hell!!

Racecardriver · 26/08/2018 22:56

Get a beard trimmer and a mirror.

kiltedsheep · 26/08/2018 22:59

@Littlebird88 Did you ask hubby first before you used it?! Mine would have a fit 😆

SlimGin · 26/08/2018 23:04

I just do it blind. It's not the nearest job but does the trick!

Anm4 · 26/08/2018 23:07

You're not alone, nearly 33 weeks and I've decided as long as im clean a bit of hair will not matter in the slightest, the last time i did shave a couple weeks ago it took me so long was still patchy, i felt like i was going to pass out attempting & then got really sore and rashy as my skin is incredibly sensitive at the moment! It's really not worth worrying! I will ask my husband to help me trim before but will not be going bare as its too uncomfortable at the moment. The first two times i gave birth i did shave and the regrowth wasn't nice aswell as an epiosiotomy, my last birth they shaved the top due to ELCS and being advised not too but in all times i couldn't care less what my hoohaa looked like. I'd rather a bit of hair than be sore now! I had my eyebrows waxed the other day as i normally do and my skin went bright red and swollen so waxing is a no no too!

polkadotpixie · 26/08/2018 23:24

I just get waxes. It does hurt more whilst pregnant but I'm too big to be able to see to shave now and feel cleaner and more comfortable down there with it removed (the extra sweating and discharge during pregnancy is a real treat Confused)

hairybloodymary · 27/08/2018 07:54

I'm not sure DH wouldn't be too happy about me using his shaver, and I don't think I'll be using hair removal cream down there! 😬🔥

I think I'll just try and keep my big bush short with regular trims. 💇🏻‍♀️

Thanks everyone for your input! 😁

I have this same issue 🙈 I’m 22weeks and quite big so already finding it hard to see Down there. I’m going to try a mirror next time before resorting to asking my hubby to do it, although he painted my toenails last week (my back was killing and I couldn’t bend) and the state he made of those makes me apprehensive about letting him loose with a razor 😳

YorkshireBee · 27/08/2018 14:05

Also having this issue! I’m enjoying swimming a lot at the moment as it takes the weight off, and up to now have been waxed. However, at 33 weeks, I can’t really see down there to work out when I’ve got enough regrowth for another wax! Don’t want to shave because it’s more uncomfortable as it grows back (not to mention physically almost impossible around the bump!). Not quite sure what to do, but I suspect I’ll just have to hope nobody notices a bit of regrowth for a couple more weeks until I can get it done properly again. It’s all glamour this pregnancy lark, eh?

Mhcb · 27/08/2018 22:37

My partner has been taking care of it for me as he knows how unclean I feel when it's not trimmed

LatteLover12 · 27/08/2018 22:45

I use the cream. The sensitive one doesn’t frazzle your bits, I promise! ☺️
