I keep waking up having turnt onto my back. I always start on my side and when ever I wake up I'll lay back on my side, but I'm worried about it.

I'm 27 weeks now and not done this is any of my other pregnancys i no this especially not ideal in the 3rd trimester. Has anyone else got this problem?

Yes I ended up waking up on my back in all my pregnancies. I mentioned it to the midwife in my first pregnancy and she said as long as you are going to sleep on your side, and when you wake up on your back you move back to your side then it's nothing to worry about.
Could you try stuffing the bed with pillows if you are worried?

Why can't you sleep on your back? I'm in my second pregnancy and missed this advice...

So googled it, Tommy's seem to take it much more seriously than the nhs who saythere isn't really any conclusive evidence but all advice says absolutely fine if you wake up on your back so wouldn't worry. Also right sleeping looks slightly better than left!

Anyone who's interested have a read of this from NHS: www.nhs.uk/news/pregnancy-and-child/pregnant-women-should-avoid-sleeping-back-last-trimester/

The study was done on only 29 women, and the only correlation they found was that foetuses spent more time quietly asleep on women who slept on their back compared to those who slept on their side. They suggested it could lead to more stillborn, but this wasn't actually investigated, and all babies were born healthy from the study.

I always woke up on my back, only once I woke up and felt dizzy! Pop a pillow behind you before you fall asleep if you're worried.
Sleeping in your back is more dangerous to you rather than the baby, once you flip back to your side as soon as you realize it you're fine.

The research is how you fall asleep rather than how you wake up. Also it's your left side not your right but no conclusive research into it.
