Suffering with bad pelvis front back and right hand side of pelvis :( I’m 29 weeks and my midwife has referred me to a physio a few weeks ago but not heard anything yet, has anyone else had to wait along time for one of these appts?

I think you should have heard something by now - I would phone your midwife and gently nudge her again re app and explain how much your struggling.
The physio will give you a support belt but you could order one online to help in the meantime to give you some relief. Also ask to be referred for acupuncture - I was referred for this when I was struggling in the later stages on my pregnancy... I was skeptical but I did feel some improvement actually so worth a go??
They will also advise how to get in and out of bed/ out of cars etc - so maybe google the hints and tips so you can start doing the correct positions.
Hope you get some relief soon xx

Yeh I'm waiting too. I was only referred last week though. I'm 35 weeks pregnant so not sure if I'll get physio before the birth anyway! Pelvic girdle pain is so annoying. I was going to the gym and doing loads of exercise before it hit me and now every morning I wake up and it hurts so much! Do let me know if/when you get your appointment- and best of luck with it!

Currently 39+2 and suffered with SPD since 19 weeks. It took me 9 weeks to get a physio appointment. Was a nightmare and the physio didn't really help - you might find it different. What has really helped me is pregnancy yoga. Definitely recommend that. Hope it eases / helps you out though! SPD is horrible. Thanks

Go see a chiropractor who has experience of working on pregnant women. Honest to god I had it horrendous, strong painkillers and crutches, couldn’t put underwear on or get out of bed unassisted, few sessions with chiropractor and I was almost completely cured!
Initial appt was about £50 but subsequent visits were £20 a visit and I went three times in my first pregnancy and as soon as I started getting twinges of it around week 14 in my 2nd pregnancy. 3 more pregnancies with no further problems. Best money ever spent.

Same as PP but I saw an osteopath. They really are worth the money.

I had SPD for years (don’t worry mine was from a workplace injury not pregnancy).

Swimming (no breaststroke) and even just walking in water helped.

As did really simple Pilates. You don’t want a beginner class it’s too advanced, but a one to one session focusing on keeping your core strong and connected should give you simple exercises that will help.

The support belt. Order one. It makes a difference when you’re tired.

In bed sleep on one side with a pillow between your legs to help align you. To get up, knees together, swing feet together towards the floor and pull body vertical at the same time. Likewise cars, sit sideways then swivel in with your knees together.
