So I bought Britney tickets at tje beginning of the year before I found out I was expecting. I've got seated tickets for the o2 in London Sunday, I will be 39+1 and going with my mother. Well if I suddenly go in to labour I obviously wouldn't go.

Should I go!? Is it safe!?

@LG123 I work in a live music venue and I don't think it's a problem (some shows are louder than others though). Might be worth contacting the venue to ask for assistance, they may offer early access or access through a side door so you don't get stuck in the crowd for example, or other support. Worth a try and would make the experience easier.

dingdongdigeridoo · 24/08/2018 10:30

Should be OK if you’re feeling up for it and have an OK journey. Trouble is with seats, everyone tends to stand up and dance anyway, so you might not be able to see anything if you sit through the show.

surreygirl1987 · 24/08/2018 10:43

I would totally go.... the tickets are seated so I can't see any issue! I didn't know noise could be a problem though...

LG123 · 24/08/2018 10:44

Thanks for all your advice everyone!

Although it doesn't look like I'm going as I'm pretty sure contractions have suddenly started (blatantly because I really want to go haha!). A little gutted I haven't managed to sell them!

@LG123 it was on Ovia app...

Should I avoid playing any type of music?
When playing music, the primary concern for Baby is volume. If the volume is too loud, it could startle her. It is best to keep the volume at around 50 decibels; this is about the sound level of a quiet washing machine. Headphones on your belly aren’t necessary because amniotic fluid is generally a good conductor of sound. Be sure not to blast the volume on your headphones, as Baby can hear quiet levels of sound. There isn’t clear evidence about the effect of different types of music, but soothing music will likely not startle her.

But just saw your update anyway! How exciting! Good luck!

I'd go if it's near to your home/hospital, probably not if it's 100 Miles from home!

surreygirl1987 · 24/08/2018 11:09

Oh gosh! How exciting! Best of luck! Well don't waste the tickets... give them to your best mate and that will cover you for Xmas presents for the next few years :)

Thanks for the info @whoisalanbrazil... really interesting and useful!

GuyGarveysWife · 24/08/2018 11:25

I went to Leeds festival a week before my due date, I had a great time!

HidCat · 24/08/2018 11:45

@LG123 good luck!

LG123 · 24/08/2018 12:31

@surreygirl1987 home of my friends like Britney that's why I roped my mum into it!

@GuyGarveysWife oh wow that's brave, glad you had a great time! If I wasn't experiencing these pains I think are contractions then I'd be going!

Its not all that close, takes just over an hour to get to North Greenwich station then i suppose there is a walk! After these pains definitely not going labour or not, mine and my baby's health is worth a little more than £300!

Thanks for the Good Luck messages! Excited eeek!!

Good luck! Was just going to say I found a loud movie hard work in the third tri and my baby didn't seem chuffed about the vibrations so I'm not sure I'd risk it. Sounds like baby's decided for you, though!

LG123 · 24/08/2018 12:42

@Daisy2990 yep! She must have heard me talking about it yesterday and thought NO, NOT HAPPENING haha!

I'm sure she'll be on your again! Not exactly the end of the world. Just reposted them on Gum tree so I hope they'll sell today/tomorrow!

You know what this means.

You have to call the kid Britney. It’s a sign.

Pittcuecothecookbook · 24/08/2018 12:55

I had tickets to The Stones when 39 weeks but lived few hours from the venue so cancelled.

LifeHackQueens · 24/08/2018 12:59

I, personally wouldn't have been able or comfortable doing anything that at 39 weeks pregnant but it's not undoable. Be sure to sit near the toilets and the exit.

LG123 · 24/08/2018 13:01

@dingdongdigeridoo Haha! I suggested this to my mum and the look on her face was just priceless!!

@Pittcuecothecookbook Oh shame! Did you lose the money?

OP posts:
LG123 · 24/08/2018 13:03

@LifeHackQueens Yeah I had floor seats and exit was close by, but having these pains and calling labour line with the midwife telling me it sounds like the very early stages of labour I just can't risk it! Typical, saying how much I was looking forward to it then BAM! Haha!

Both my babies were born before 39 weeks. If you're getting around ok and feel well, I'd go. I went to see Taylor Swift in Hyde Park a few weeks before ds was born. Getting there and being there was fine. Exiting to the tube with huge crowds while I had spd really hurt! Still glad I went!

LorelaiVictoriaGilmore · 24/08/2018 13:28

Just read your update! Maybe not....! Grin

OutPinked · 24/08/2018 13:37

I would go for it personally. You have seated tickets so you can literally sit down for the duration if needs be.

LG123 · 24/08/2018 13:44

@LorelaiVictoriaGilmore yep, I'm going nowhere! Although on the phone to the labour line midwife this morning she asked if I had any plans today lol. I was like, I'm supposed to go the cinema this afternoon and she said crack on and go about your day but obviously keep an eye on it. But I do think now a concert will be a bit much 😅

@OutPinked That was my thinking until the pains started!
