Hi,

I previously posted a out having 2 positives on Thursday and the negatives since, my doctors have just said that it's most likely a missed miscarriage, does anyone have any more information on what happens next if that is the case?

I have to have a blood test today and the possibly a scan after

Thank you in advance! Xx

A missed miscarriage is when the body does not eliminate an embryo that hasn't made it... a chemical pregnancy is one that is lost when too early to be seen on ultrasound (generally before 6 weeks) and can only be detected by blood/ urine tests.

Chemicals usually result in a negative test shortly after a positive test. Bleeding is then spontaneous a few days after a negative. Some people say it's like a heavy period, others have slightly more severe effects (I had dizziness, nausea for my second).

A missed miscarriage is generally caught at the 12 week scan. Spontaneous bleeding does not occur and it sometimes results in the use of drugs or a surgical procedure to remove.

I'm sorry you're going through such uncertainty. Miscarriage is sadly part of starting a family that is underdiscussed. Please seek support if you're struggling.

Above all, it was absolutely nothing that you did - but simply not viable (probably for genetic reasons). Be kind to yourself.

Pay no mind, op... sometimes there are spammers... I've reported the previous post.
