I’m off for my midwife appt tomorow and just got hubby to measure bump, I’m 28 weeks 5 days today but I’m measuring a lot bigger at 36cm rather than 28cm, is this normal and should I be worried about baby getting very big? Hubby cud be measuring wrong though. I suppose il get measured properly
tomorrow tho but hope it’s ok

I’d wait and see what the midwife measures you at. Chances are husband isn’t measuring right because that sounds a lot bigger than expected

Yer how has your husband measured to the top of you uterus? It's not just measuring your bump. Then again I measured 31 weeks at 25 just got the results of the gestation diabetes test (negative thankfully) that I had to have because I'm so big, will see midwife again this week and I think she is sending me for a scan to see if it's a big baby or just lots of water and loose stomach muscles.

That's your husbands measurements?!

Yes, of course your husband may well be measuring wrong.Hmm

Is your husband a midwife?

hammeringinmyhead · 21/08/2018 12:09

The midwife has to feel around to identify
the top of your uterus first, which is knowledge I strongly suggest your husband does not have!

Is your husband a trained midwife?
If not I suspect he’s measuring wrong.

OutPinked · 21/08/2018 15:17

He likely hasn’t measured it correctly unless he’s a trained midwife. Midwives feel for the top of the uterus and measure from there down to pubic bone. If you really are measuring 8 weeks ahead, they would send you for an urgent growth scan but I think your DH has measured incorrectly.
