Hi Op,
Sorry I'm late commenting on your post. I was scrolling down for any advice on what to take with a cold and saw your post.
I have 2 healthy discs in my back. due to a car accident the others are all a combination of slipped, bulging and bone on bone degenerated. It's very painful.
One of my discs that was slipped ended up compressing my spinal cord centrally and left me with a permanent disability called cauda equina syndrome. That was 9 years ago and since then I have had 2 healthy babies since and I'm currently pregnant with my 3rd.
Make sure you have help and support in place for when you need it and talk about how you will cope in your birth plan if the slipped disc becomes a problem in any way.
The main thing you need to be aware of when your body is changing and you are about to go through childbirth are the symptoms of cauda equina syndrome. Please look on google and familiarise yourself as if this was to happen doctors only have 48hrs to act before you can be left with permanent damage.
The pains down your leg are not a "worry" in terms of this they are just sciatica but please go straight to A&E if you have any change in sensation below the waist, any numbness, any bladder and bowel sensation changes (if you find you wee or poo yourself by accident) or if you can't feel the area between your legs.
Hope things stay settled for you and you have a lovely healthy pregnancy op I just wanted you to know the red flags should you need them.
