There are tons of videos on YouTube that I’ve been watching when pregnancy insomnia takes hold to inspiration

Nappies, cotton wool, toiletries, lip balm, breast pads, maternity pads, outfits for baby, comfy clothes and pyjamas for yourself, big knickers, book, electronics and chargers, birth plan. Loads of advice online as well but hope this helps :)

I’m pregnant with #4 so I’ve packed this bag three times before and I still needed a list to remind me Grin.

For you:
A pack of bigggg knickers, preferably black. I’m talking Bridget Jones full briefs. M&S do great ones.
2 packs of maternity pads
A pack of breast pads even if you don’t wish to BF as you will leak
An extra nursing bra if you do wish to BF
Lip balm
Shower gel/deodorant/toothbrush/toothpaste/hair brush/bobbles/make up
Phone and phone charger
Change for the car park
Big bottles of lucozade and snacks - things like string cheese, bananas, biscuits etc anything to keep your energy up (and for your birth partner to eat)
2x PJs
A nightgown
2x change of clothes
An extra Pillow
Nipple cream if you plan to BF
Maternity notes if you have them, we have switched across to the digital system here

For baby:
A pack of nappies
Pack of wipes
3x vests
3x babygrows
1 snowsuit/jacket if baby is a winter baby
Car seat in the car
Blanket x2 just in case baby gets sick on one
Muslin cloths

And mouthwash. If you can't get to the bathroom for whatever reason you can dip a toothbrush in. Less messy than toothpaste you can do it from bed. :)

I packed my changing bag for the baby which included:
3 bodysuits,
3 sleepsuits,
2 hats,
water wipes,
cotton wool,
8 nappies,
nappy bags,
starter pack of formula milk,
Blanket
When packing my bag I seperated everything into separate zip lock bags. That came in handy for when my husband needed to dress dc (I was being prepped for surgery post birth) I was able to tell him where everything was e.g.there was a small bag which had a hat, sleepsuit and bodysuit in with a nappy so he was able to just take that out and dress dc. I had packed three similar parcels. I understand this sounds a bit over organised but it helped him and myself in a stressful situation.

I took a small backpack with my things. Off top of my head these included:
Large mens t shirt for labouring in
Pjs for post birth,
Set of comfortable clothes to return home in (leggings, t shirt, thin cardigan),
Toiletries in small zip lock bag (things for myself and husband)
T shirt for husband,
Camping towel and it packed up every small,
Dressing gown,
Flipflops,
Phone charger,
Like I did with the baby bag I also separated the things in my backpack for things I would need in labour and things for the ward

Remember a snack bag (ours was a shopping bag) !!! I came out if surgery at midnight after arriving at hospital at 8 in the morning and I was starving. The snack bag saved me that first night. I took isotonic sport drinks (4 of these but next time I would take a few more, cereal bars, breakfast buscuits and mini chedders)

Sorry for long post. Hope it helps you
